Just got B8 annual increase yesterday and was a RIDUCULOUS 1.5% for top performer. Basically took a 7% paycut after inflation. COME ON IBM.........start treating your employees fair. On second thought time to start looking.
Für me, a B9 consultant every day delivering at customer projects the last 15+ years, it is a sign of ingratitude and no respect to performance, neither personal nor of the team or local organisation.
I am with IBM almost 20 years and can see no improvement or sustainable development the last years. Time to say good bye before the company disappears in insignificance.
Cheers from Europe
My bonus this year is zero again at IBM… think about that folks who are thinking joining IBM… jut stay away, awful company.
Glad I left….my bonus last year was 43%….
Good luck to the execs, who get RSUs every year, the downward trend on the stock ..
This is why they should get options not stock. Giving them stock is still giving them money, even if the price goes down.
GDP is(was) 0-12% of salary for Bands 9 and below, 0-24% Band 10.
So if you salary was 100k, bonus could be 0 to 12k or 24k if you are a Band10.
In 2008 I think it was funded at around 5% for B9 and under, so decent, not life changing
In the past 5 years its been a pittance - like 1% and 0 last 2 or 3 years, I do not actually remember.
The unfunded bonus may cause a mass exodus of talent, given salaries are good externally and lots of job openings.
Good luck to the execs, who get RSUs every year, the downward trend on the stock will likely continue, given the lack of leadership, particularly in Sales.
How much is the typical GDP bonus? Are we talking thousands of dollars?
Austin is full of idîots. Don’t believe anything that comes from there. Especially if it’s about design. Bunch of hipster wankers.
Non IBMer here This OP is very active What kind of money are you all talking about? Is GDP a bonus?
- If the mid point goes up by 4% doesn't mean ibm will automatically give you as much raise to keep your pmr% intact, what are you smoking/how long have you been at ibm?
- 15% discount doesn't mean sh-t if the base pay itself is abysmal because they'll allow to buy only x% of base pay.
Ibm isn't even matching the salary when you get a competing offer, you guys are naive to think that there'll be some big raise magically. All other legacy companies are giving huge retentions because they still want/need to make proper products but ibm doesn't care.
Wake up and leave this shithole

Keeping the same PMR has NEVER been a goal at IBM so seeing it move 4% means nothing. I think the original poster misunderstood the ESPP stock discount going from 5% to 15% as of April 1 as a GDP or raises.
There is NO 2022 GDP payout this spring.
There is a "salary program" starting May 1 but I expect the raises will be small (in the 0-4% range) so do not expect much. If the company decides to do raises based on cost-of-living verses performance and you are near/over the 100% PMR rate (aka half way in the range), you will get NOTHING.....been there and got that song/dance once. That year, I was told only people way below the PMR (rumors were lower than 80-90% PMR) were getting anything.
- Login to workday
- Enter "salary statement" into search bar at top
- Click on the "Salary Statement" Task and Report
- Enter a recent date range and click ok
- PMR data is on the far right of the generated table, see "Current Compa-Ratio" and "Annualized Min/Mid/Max Range"
- Enter a date range a bit further back in time and compare the PMR
Where do you find that in Workday ?
According to workday, the PMR midpoint for my band/job family was recently increased by 4%. So going by IBMs own metric, the salary plan would need to be about that amount to keep the same PMR.
AK said that there is pay increases coming May 1st. Let's see what that amounts to... probably peanuts for some, and nothing for others.
No there won't
There will be a salary increase program but no GDP
We all know peasants get peanuts... why are you surprised? If you are not happy get out! This is what I did.
Why oh why do we put up with this?? We should resurrect the Unionizing effort from several years back. I think the CWA will find us much more receptive this time around.
I also heard that senior executives, in the interest of leadership and being part of the team, are going to forgo their bonuses and stock options.
Sorry, bad joke. That's never going to happen.
No GDP payout this year. Arvind is confident 2022 will be a good year and GDP will be paid out in spring 2023 (not holding my breath!). If you are an employee, listen to the replay.
GDP is not funded for 2022 payout. Does this mean no GDP this spring or next year?
GDP will never be funded going forward... Once IBM takes something away, it never comes back. Same thing for bonuses for the peasants.
Arvind said in his employee broadcast yesterday that GDP is not funded for 2022 payout. There will be no GDP this year.
I think that is only a one time bonus for power10 release to top talent
