My VP mentioned a return to office decision coming soon, but didn’t give any details. Have you heard anything on this?
I’m curious if they will go to 3, 4, or 5 days a week in-office.

@5z5 After Labor Day
@OP I heard 3 days beginning September 25’
What happened to the Friday “announcement”
@q1 no it won’t.
@nh+1jxz62q3t that will change very soon.
Here’s something. They can’t do anything to you if you refuse to come in to the office. They can’t hit your bonus, affect your pay, or even have a plan to correct the behavior. They sure won’t promote you again but if you’re fine with where you are don’t come in. FACTS!
My VP just told me 3 days. Not sure of start date yet though.
@gq+1jxz62q3t That’s great. Nice soliloquy. Now get back to the office 5x per week.
I heard, now, this is just a rumor but, I heard, return to office 8 days a week.
Why do people want people in the office, everyone i work with would be virtual regardless of where I am in the world. Do I want to make friends and talk to others in the office, no. I just want to do my job and go home. Prior to covid I enjoyed chatting with peers and visiting other workgroups. Now, I just do what is needed and move on. No one here is really a friend, I just concentrate on myself and keep it moving. My advice, keep taking the pay and wait for the severance. Get paid and get... well you know the rest. RTO can degeneration X and s@#k it, WFH "NWO" 4 life.
what @ec+1jxz62q3t says!
pRoDuCtiViTy iS uP
sure it is
plenty of manipulation, lying, deceit & obfuscation sure was up the last 5+ years, that’s for sure. everyone knows it. even you. get back the the office 5 days lol
RTO you LAZY VZ B-MS
When raises for LEADING ratings don’t match inflation, when there are no openings for more senior roles, employees have to adjust their working style to something that makes continued employment “worth it” for them. We are MAKING this a good place to work, by ourselves.
Productivity is up, work still getting completed on schedule. The only ones who can’t handle that kind of flexibility are an-l-retentive managers who can’t figure out why their team is constantly posting out for laterals and even demotions to get away from senseless bureaucracy.
Verizon offers benefits that increase with each tenure milestone, and we’ll be damned if we’re gonna leave that on the table. We’re here to produce RESULTS, not put on a dog and pony show.
This has nothing to do with productivity. Let’s stop pretending.
The 5-day RTO and talk of surveillance are just the latest symptoms of a Finance-led cleanup operation. Verizon leadership isn’t trying to build culture — they’re trying to justify expensive leases, trim headcount quietly, and feed compliance metrics to the board.
Here’s the playbook:
• Force butts in seats to claim “office utilization” is up.
• Apply pressure so people quit — no severance required.
• Drown it all in language about “collaboration” and “engagement” while real performance indicators continue to slide.
It’s not strategy. It’s spreadsheet theater.
And while Finance runs the show, employees are treated like liabilities instead of assets.
What’s left is a company that can’t retain talent, can’t differentiate its products, and can’t admit it’s running on autopilot.
The saddest part? The people making these decisions still think surveillance and RTO compliance will turn things around.
RTO immediately 5 days. Until then: real time forward facing camera & mic on at all times during work hours on company equipment-laptops & constant GPS real time & location monitoring of all company issued phones, laptops, etc
when not sitting sitting at home
work area. If you’re not happy with this situation, it really means you are guilty and are hiding something, so come back to your work cubicle in the office. No
need to cite that 1 unsubstantiated, not peer reviewed, unscientific, unverifiable “study” always lazily referred to about being “more productive” from working at home lol
100% confirmed. Announcement this Friday and 3 days a week starts in September. The scammers/liars will be happy to know there is zero accountability or enforcement. This pioneering game changing policy change by Verizon’s though leaders is a testament to their brilliance and innovation to make a decision 5 years after COVID. Go beyond!
@an where did you hear about office reductions? Or is your @$$h0le your source
@an Fake news, nice try and thanks for my extra $50 a month to WFH
@ab WFH over 25 years and thanks for my extra $50 a month. Lets go another 10 years
Haven’t heard anything but that doesn’t mean a thing… what do people think would be the reason to make a change now? If they close offices down, they’ll either have to make people remote or give a lot of severance
Been 3 days a week for over a year now for our group. Not so bad. But our team is also going through exercises on ways we can sc--w the customers, I mean, save money for the organization. The sc--ws are tightening!
3 days
Also heard they will be reducing from 60 something hubs to around 20. And that stipends for "remote" workers are going away. Not sure if those will happen during the same announcement on Friday. Pretty obvious push for cost cutting and headcount reduction.
I’m hearing that for the union side this will be in conjunction with packages offered for those that would rather not go to a work center at all.As for field people it’s just gonna be some of the same it’s been.
Half-day on Saturdays too.
Unioners full time for sure. They can't be trusted.
Wonder if this will include people who are WFH in certain roles. This would be a way for big red to reduce headcount by forcing people to move to a center or take a package. I've been waiting to see if big red follows what Tmobile did last year with that same action. I'm currently WFH and not sure what I would choose? Will this be the announcement or will it just be those already going in have to increase days from 2 to 3 or 3 to 4...?
5 days a week. I also heard announcement coming Friday.
Get back to the office deadbeats
End of the day, it will be up to the org. Some are already 3, 4, or even 5.
Or group has been 3 days a week for 6 months now. It won't solve anything, but it's a 'lever' leaders can pull to show they are doing something.
I heard it was 3 days a week starting after Labor Day. Sam is supposed to give the official announcement Friday.
