Make sense that we start talking about our low carbon future, even if it unclear what that is going to look like. At least we started to reinfect Gorgon CO2 as planned (even of way behind schedule). That alone should make any short term reduced carbon metrics look great (from the greatest releaser to the greatest sequesterer in one year flat! ... a doer human energy brag line just waiting to be broadcast!

Solar is no where near the cheapest energy source. What have you been smoking? Pay for the panels yourself, replace the batteries, then get back to us. You need hydrocarbon products to produce the batteries & panels BTW.
7zxx: no I don’t call everyone popcorn, just you.
Popcorn: you back logging in again and again to give yourself thumbs up. Come on man, you were laid off in 2016 ... It really is time for you to move on! Get a hobby, join a church, become a stonier and hippy out man: really any is better than drinking while posting on a lay-off site 5 years after the fact.
@6bor ROTFLMAO! I love it. Keep em coming!
Solar is already the cheapest source of energy. Read up on it, girls.
“where exactly are we going to get the energy source to generate the additional electric power?“ .... solar, wind, and, in a few years, fusion. The real problem is not power generation but storage: At all scales from the entire grid to your local vehicle.
Climate Change is wealth redistribution. It’s a globalist means to an end, the end of capitalism.
Climate Change is an extortion racket designed to make the promoters rich through law suites and and government subsidies. But, it is reality due to the political potential for extorting and controlling otherwise productive and profitable people providing an essential product for modern civilization.
Elon Musk of Tesla said this week, if the US replaces all the cars and trucks on the road with electric vehicles, our country won’t have but enough electricity to power half of them. So where exactly are we going to get the energy source to generate the additional electric power? Yep, you guessed it easily. Oil and gas will be the source of all that Green energy these nut jobs talk about all the time.
@4hyg: That’s the queen’s “We” I assume. I also must assume your righteous indignation comes from the fact that your personal CO2 footprint is near zero... no car, no heat in the home, and no consumption of shipped goods. Good for you, but you must be already getting sick of stale root vegetables and pickled tomatoes by this time of year and your arm must be getting sore from that hand crank generator you use to post on the internet. But wait ... what’s that smell ... is it half-baked barbecued hypocrite perhaps?
@4jsw, Well then, we suggest that you come out of your cave and support real science instead of the propaganda based rubbish that you peddle.
Burning gas has about half the co2 emissions as oil and light oil about half heavy or coal. So even if your focus is totally green, gas remains a good idea for the immediate future (assuming you want to live a modern energy supported life style rather than just sitting in a dark cave).
But crude oil is free range organic energy...
there are a lot of methane emissions coming from management. if we just cut 1/2 of them, we will have hit the emission goals. not quite net zero. but a lot less than what these guys emit these days!
Great idea from a pencil pusher / mouse clicker. It is an oxymoron to have green crude / gas, similar to clean coal. It does not exist. Just saying so does not make it. So help yourself out to a solar or wind company and feel good about yourself or the planet.
Take the next logical steps:
1) Of course humans have an influence on the climate but so does nature:
2) How much of the human influence is due to carbon emissions is highly uncertain (the science community is on both sides);
3) Can the highly uncertain human impact be reversed and do economies get senselessly destroyed trying ?; and
4) Radical climate change advocacy is mostly about the big bucks available to the select few Al Gores of the world at the expense of the naïve sheeple that buy into the BS and keep it going. Just follow the money! As mentioned earlier it is much more more about the opportunity for wealth distribution than anything else.
BS Climate change? You're naive if you think humans can't have any influence on climate.
It could be worse. We could have death wish ambitions to completely transform from traditional oil and gas into a "Green Utility" like BP and RDS.
That BS Climate Change hoax science still has many a fool, fooled, doesn’t it? Realize for once that Climate Change is a redistribution of wealth scheme. The US is in the crosshairs of this fraud and will pay the highest price for not discrediting it.
Even with the id–tic CO2 injection at Gorgon up and running we emit more greenhouse gas there than we sequester. LNG is not green and needs to be shut down.
Love " we started to reinfect Gorgon". This is a troll from IT - LMAO
