I was laid off from Oracle in 2017 at 57. It was the first time to be laid off in my 33 year career. It took me 18 months to find another job. Great company, 5 minutes from home. But I had to readjust my expectations and went from being a senior director to an individual contributor. That meant over a 50% reduction in my salary. But at least now I have a salary and healthcare coverage and I'm not burning through my savings. I work for a company with integrity and I'm not depressed and stressed. I am now 60 and hope to stay in this job for 3-5 years if possible. Good luck to my fellow "experienced" workers.
