Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

5 year Anniversary

What changes upon 5 years at Cisco? Increased PTO or just increased ability to bank PTO? Anything else?

" I just think the ba--s look good which is why I "salvaged" them from the trash"

I declined this gift or just never ordered it since it was to me completely low class for 10 years as a Blue badge,

Now I wish I would have taken them. I would send them to you so I could say:

"I just mailed my ba--s to someone."

Were they called Journey Spheres or someone like that?

@8set+1pDT8NyN, instead of commenting as "Anonymous", you should have signed it Captain Obvious.

I know that red badge years don't count "bro". But if you look at my badge #, and look at all the new people who have badge #'s in the 600K, 800K, or even the 1M range, they have no idea how many years I have as a mix of red and blue since they came in long after I turned blue. People just see the stand w/ 3 ba--s on it and make assumptions. I just think the ba--s look good which is why I "salvaged" them from the trash. The stand doesn't even have my name on it, so it's just a desk ornament to me. But, in less than 5 more yrs, I'll have earned those ba--s as a blue badge anyway.

They got rid of the glass ball. I would have liked that. It is better than the junk you can get off their rewards website.

Lots of people "trashed" their glass ba--s and/or display stands as they quit or were LR'd. I have 15+ yrs at Cisco between my red & blue badges and I have a stand w/ 3 ba--s because I rescued a ball from the trash 3 times and a stand out of the copier room.

Haha for my 5 yr, I literally got a canned email from Chuck and a small gift card. I don’t think anyone in my management chain even knew. I gotta say it was a little disappointing.

over 25 years, and yes they give the glass ba--s , we used to throw the down the halls when we worked in cubes, take it day by day now, expect to be taken out back and put of of my misery any day now, stock drop makes it hurt more but ready for it. obtw ,every 5 years you lose more of your soul and increase your chance of heart attack cause you are either the person who is worked to death or the one who just kisses butt and hides all day.

You get +1 more week of severance for every year of service after 5 years of service. Meaning, when you’re LRd (because you will be eventually) for year 6 and each year of service after…you’ll get ONE additional week of pay out.

So you got that going for you. LOL.

PTO accrual used to increase at every 5 year Ciscoversary but the company stopped doing that years ago. You might be eligible for a small gift.
