Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

This is wrong on many levels

Christmas is next week and people are still not sure if they're safe from layoffs in 2020. Imagine how much you have to fail as a company for that to be true? And to think Dell was once known as a place to go if you wanted to grow your career. Well those days are certainly gone!

Yes I agree to below comment about Tell Dell. Never ever say anything bad. Just show everything is awesome about the company even if you disagree. Telling you from my personal experience and 2 others who dared speak against.

Re: So nice to be out...

On the front lines for so long, I became immune (perhaps denial) to the politics and poor behavior of the workforce, some of whom we considered "friends" or at least trustworthy. Caught in the September WFR, it was only just recently that I realized how stressful it was. More importantly how that stress isn't part of my daily life now. Not everyone is aware that stress is very unhealthy over time. I recommend that everyone "get away from it all" if you have the opportunity. Take a minimum of 3 months off to see and appreciate all of the good things that we take for granted being part of the rat-race :)

You will get laid-off if you don't have a family or are financially well off

Based on a amount of reactions to some posts on this thread, I would expect the 'Tell Dell' results to be unfavorable this year.

@9afz+18tEkxVf sound like you are the one whining. Would like some cheese?

If fact why are you current Dell employees even chiming in on LAYoff site.

Shouldn't you be working trying to save a losing company.

Oh NM you work at DELL. Have fun selling laptops and what the claim is enterprise storage.

GO big or go home.

So much whinging. You all have jobs, Dell actually had great profits last quarter from budget tightening, we are going to drop a lot of the offices and move to work from home, we have the worlds leading PC and Infrastructure platforms for Hybrid environments ..

we arent a cloud vendor and just because we arent doesnt mean we should be . . 99.9% of all ICT organisations arent Microsoft/Amazon/google . . imagine how the small business IT players feel .. they would be grateful as fk to be where we are .

If you want to work at a cloud vendor, go for a job there and see how well you are treated.

There were no mass layoffs, most of Dell kept their jobs through corona and will work from home for months to come. Offices are dead zones and productivity flew when we moved remove. You can now live 30m away from the office and not pay a bomb in rent just for the joy of commuting.

Get a grip. The issues in the world are not Dell issues, they are world issues, the company is adapting to them and if you dont like it then go for a job at AWS and see how well you like 80 hour weeks and being made to role play ever day when you dont hit your number.

Dell dominates nothing. They just acquired EMC. Anyone could have bought that sinking ship.

Who’s buying servers for their offices when everyone is working from home?

Amazon, Google, Microsoft

Go big or go home!

So now Amazon, Google and Microsoft all doing it. First steps towards RISC5 designs. Following Apple lead. But at some point they will want to not pay ARM either. Thus RISC5. Dell will not dominate the Server Market as more and more of them go direct to TSMC,.

@1keg

This message is brought you by your typical entry-level employee where he/she believes that their company is the only relevant player in the industry. “Dominating”? Don’t make me laugh. You do know that COVID is still lurking around, right? Who’s buying servers for their offices when everyone is working from home?

You know what is wrong with Dell. I'm forced to take Diversity and Racism ethics training and then asked questions about what I personally will do to make things better....then I look at MD's direct reports and don't see one person of color on that level of his staffing. I say they're not practicing what they're preaching, especially at the highest level.

Dell still rocks! The good days are about to come. Dell dominates the server market , the high end storage market and the chances are it will reign supreme in 2021! Go big or go home!
