EIC = Early in career
Then the question is when do leaders receive their FY21 budgets?
- Hiring EIC’s: they are cheap
what is EIC?
senior director in IT said there are "no LRs in the works"
This is corporate double-speak.
There is nothing “in the works” since that director hasn’t yet received their FY21 budget.
When they do, look out.
Of course there will be LRs! It’s the end of the fiscal year. Guys (and girls) - if you haven’t figured out that we’ve been doing “rolling layoffs” every single quarter for the past 18 months, with a slight pause for COVID, then you haven’t been paying attention. There are opex targets the company needs to meet. There are growth targets (which are creative math). There are margin targets.
We manage all of this like so:
- rigor around spending and expenses
- encourage increased PTO
- actively “optimizing” (thinning) teams through LRs and performance management
- justifying headcount with ~$5M of revenue per head per department (but this can be double counted across departments, which is good for everyone)
- Hiring EIC’s: they are cheap
- driving down COGs
- repatriating product assembly (at least to North America)
- buy components vendors
- regularly examining contractor costs and recalibrating contractor usage (which 90% of the time contractors are more expensive than just having the full time employees on the payroll)
All of that plus Kelly sprinkling the magic fairy dust/CFO spin on things so the s—ers—I MEAN SHAREHOLDERS—feel like we have a good handle on things. That is how we keep this battleship afloat.
A senior director in IT said there are "no LRs in the works" which sounds quite ominous. Not only that, but I'd lie in that situation too as long as it keeps people working.
I feel like you are trying to trick people into watching the weekly check-in. Cruel. Can someone take responsibility to post highlights?
Didn't Chuck just say on this weeks check-in that there are no LR's in the works?
I thought August 1st is Saturday.
Not surprised last year LR notifications sent final week of July
AppDynamics merge and LR?
OP what makes you think this?
Reorg to capture synergies, I suppose. Core networking and routing. What else do they really have?
Is there a sign up list posted?
