I really needed work from Home! My manager had tlold me to leave the job.
Now we are in a lockdown sitting at home and working!
Is this karma?

The results are not the same. People who work in the tech field in the U.S. are people who enjoy and are more inclined towards that work. People who work in the tech field in other countries are people who got that degree because they wanted a good paying job and, in my experience, usually have no real aptitude for the work.
If results are the same, why pay someone more to work from home in the US when you can pay someone less who works from home in another country.
How does it matter it? If they have laptop with them.. During lockdown is there anybody asking where are you working from?... Managers who dont have any other better work, will be worried about where their employees are working from.. If the manager is technical he would be worried only about work, not whether his directs are working from other country or their toilets.
When employers don't see workers showing up at the office, they may be at "working from home" or in some other country. Doesn't matter.
There are certainly some learning things from this , especially for the higher ups,
Who like every one else are locked down. Until and unless Human values are not respected - Nature comes down heavily when entropy is imbalanced. Ethics in business and Human values should come foremost. Some companies in the name of business keep squeezing the lower grade ones and we as mere mortals think we can escape the hell..
