Stop complaining

Stop crying about the RIFs. The industry is in the toilet. Just be happy you have a job. Honeywell did nothing wrong

I guess HR does earn overtime after all @OP+15vCIqTv. Pass on the sentiment of this board to mad dog Madsen when you see him.

Sorry, but the only M O R O N S here are those who think Honeywell leadership will listen. Honeywell is following the exact footsteps of GE–hollow out the company for profits while the CEO and C-suite make millions in bonuses for stock performance. Dave Cote is Jack Welch, and Adamcyzck is Immelt. They know exactly what they're doing - making millions.

What are you doing? Crying here that those making millions aren't listening to you? Wise up and get out.

Honeywell did EVERYTHING wrong! The highlights include:

  • Too many over-paid upper management types that are good at table pounding and intimidation tactics, bit lack real leadership talent
  • No investment in future products via R&D
  • $20 Billion USD in stock buybacks over the past 5 years, including a $1.857 Billion purchase in late March of this year, more Billions planned for buybacks the rest of the year while telling employees about headwinds and sacrifice and saving cash
  • Sending production to Malaysia that resulted in garbage quality, increased costs, and p-ss-d off customers so badly that Honeywell is now on their no-bid list for new business
  • Now, massive layoffs of the most critical personnel needed to deliver on commitments when things turn around

I'm certain that a drunken, bi-polar, sociopathic, teenage pirate off their meds could do better at running this ship.

Agree on one fact that Honeywell is feeling the effect of economic slump. However!!! This is one of the few large companies who is extremely top-heavy. In mid 2010's Aerospace umbrella had roughly 44k employees. 25K in management & 19k individual contributors. Honeywell has had departments with VP and 4+ directors that did not and do not have direct reports! That is is over 1 million in Salary that is floating away on managing metrics! Financially it does not make ANY SENSE. During RIFs managers and directors are the last one to get touched. Every manager is an indirect employee - overhead cost.

I say, this go around economy has played its had, but Honeywell could have planned much better and reduced its overhead cost by reducing number of managers, directors, VPs, eliminating management bonuses and incentives. For FU&S sake minimum VP bonus = $150k, that's two entry level jobs that could have been saved!!!!

If rumors of 35%+ RIF are true for Honeywell, then it far exceeds what the industry’s is doing: Boeing (10% RIF commercial only) RR (10% RIF) and even ruthless GE is only 25%. Airbus Thales and Safran have yet to make a move. The most egregious part of Honeywell’s behavior is the coverup, so we’ll never really know the true cost. Indications are HON is using covid to take other footprint reduction and offshoring actions. Honeywell does not care about employees.

Honeywell did nothing wrong, let me start by stating the obvious. If they did nothing wrong they would be in much better shape financially and employees would not be impacted.
Honeywell has a track record of not investing and growing companies that they have acquired, in reality they sweep in hiding behind executive orders and freeze budgets, reduce spend. The results overt time drive customers to the competition further eroding the brand integrity. Unless your playing golf with the boys your just a b–ch.
Honeywell is actually an acronym for
Hoarding

Net
Earnings
Yearly
While
Employees
Left
