@OP I think you may have answered your own question, assuming that it wasn’t rhetorical to begin with.
A lot of what LF does is public posturing. He runs a company with an ugly history and an even uglier reputation, and he’s keen to deflect from that wherever possible. Anyone who wants to verify just how little he cares about the effects of Covid-19 only has to read the UP attendance policy. Even if I liked him (which I never did) I would have to admit that this alone damages any credibility he would claim on this issue.
This was preparation for his career in politics. Say he’s going to do a bunch of stuff and then quietly never bring it up again
Thats the problem right there! He'll admit he's proud of something, but stay almost completely silent whens he's not. Depend on him? Really? I'm sure the thousands he laid off are in total agreement with what hes done for the company so far.
