What departments are being let go?
I just got an offer for UHG/Optus for product manager ...coming from Kaiser but I’m thinking of declining due to all of these layoffs I’ve been reading about

Unless you have little to no options, stay at Kaiser. NO ONE in their right mind would choose a wall street, publically traded, shareholder owned corporation who's ONLY mission to profit. Vile and disgusting. usa, capitalism on steroids/unfettered. money was all that mattered. sickos
@OP+17FXjCTN - I hope you are getting the hint that staying at Kaiser is the best decision you could ever make. As a Senior Leader in this organization, I am actually embarrassed to be working here. Yet, I stay due to some of the benefits I have that I lose should I quit. So, I am trying to stick it out as long as I possibly can. I wish you the best, but staying put is the wisest choice.
hr ladies/simps are only there to protect the corporation and ensure it's lust for profit/greed for the stock market/shareholders - that's it. The duped employees are seen as fungible clowns who's only 'job' is to hamster wheel -once they get hip to the jive, many bail. others with little to no options stay.
Optum most toxic culture I have ever seen in my 30 year career. Product management a joke and layoffs have hit that area. 265 billion in profit last year and average merit 1 5 percent. And most below grade 30 see zero bonus. This is a greed machine for profit stock obsessed bunch of diversity unconscious b–tards.

An Optum recruiter contacted me last week via LinkedIn. I had previously worked at Optum for a year as a Lead Engineer. I told her thanks but no thanks. The environment was toxic and the worst place I have ever worked in nearly 20 years. I didn't get RIF'ed, but saw jobs going to India quickly and a small team was hired on from India to "join" the project I was on. One of the people had pretty much the same title and experience I did. When I tried to confront management about this, just to get some clarity, I got no response. Optum has a lot great people, but some of the management that I worked with are spineless cowards just out for themselves. It's hard to believe this company is still in business.
The hr women at optum was pretty rude to me regarding job offer I got a good idea how the company is run based on initial contact. They play up what a great company it is when I kniw otherwise. If u don't want ur job at KP, I take it
Stay at KP. It’s not just the layoffs. Lack of ethical and moral conduct by a lot of the leadership. Adulteress relationships with their employees, Hostile working environment. I could go on and on.
Leaving KP for optum would be like trading in a brand new lux car for a junky sht box.
You'd be considered non production and targeted for rifs. Sooner or later. The career path at optum is tough for mid career professionals. I'm trying to get out. I would love a job at kaiser lol.
Stay at Kaiser. Far better. It's a not for profit not Wall street stock dividend nonsense. Most that work at optum have little to no choices and other simply rusty junky cogs in a for profit wheel.
I am begging you: stay at KP. You are better not having a job than being employed at Optum.
I work alongside the product and implementation teams at Optum and I would think long and hard about signing on here. All the supporting functions are running very lean so it’s hard to get anything accomplished! There’s limited budget for meaningful system enhancements/improvements and there’s a big push for digital capabilities that will eventually lead to operational layoffs.
Everything you do will be MVP with limited ability to do any best practice work. It’s all bandaids and duct tape.
Spot on. Kaiser permantentes is non profit and they are MUCH better than that other place which lusts after profiteering off of sick people and govt shananigans. Plus with union protections they are not a disgusting "at will" employee at the whim of some vile us corporation
Stay with Kaiser. Please. Kaiser is a reputable non-profit company that has a union. You can what you want about union jobs, but union jobs are far better than non-union. UHC is like the polar opposite of Kaiser....non-union, for profit, understaffed, over-worked, blow average pay, terrible management, terrible work environment, UHC has been sued many times at least a couple times a year, and massive layoffs with no end. Do not leave a great job at Kaiser to come here. People work for places like UHC, Humana, Aetna etc. To go to Kaiser, not the other way around.
The second the corporation can out source your US "job" to the phillipines, india, etc..you're gone. It was all about profit. It's all about being "useful"-codeword for bringing them $.
stay at klaiser, it's far better. more job security and less c-apitalistic nonsense.
Product management is dwindling. I’d stay put, if I were you. I got laid off October 7.
What would you say are the pros and cons ?
Thank you so much
I recommend staying at KP. I’m a ex KP employee and it’s been a rough transition. Totally different world...
