A brief goodbye, I'm leaving IBM (by choice) and moving on to newer and better pastures.
Things I'll miss about this board:
- The supportive people offering encouragement to those forced out or those gathering the nerve to leave, especially the ones who've been at IBM a long time.
Things I won't miss:
- The people who think they know how to run the business and have no freakin' clue. They're mostly the ones posting "IBM should sell this or that" without any idea why anybody would want to buy it. You sound like taxi drivers who think they should be running the country.
- The people who think that their situation is everybody else's fault, whether its Indians or new hires or younger people or Band 10s or nepotism or a liberal conspiracy of woke quota tokenism... We all agree that there's a lot of deadwood in IBM, and you know what? If you're constantly complaining about how badly IBM is treating you compared to everybody else, it might well be you. If you're so valuable, go get a better job. Apple is hiring.
- The casual racism, and the fact that the board's admins seem fine with it. Remember the guy who posted that the DE title went to he-l when they started letting Indians in? Or the who posted that "Indians only hire Indians"? Seriously, are you all OK with that sh-t?
Anyway, not my problem any more. Auf Wiedersehn, goodbye.
