Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Rumors are that hybrid will be moving from in-office three days a week to five, at least within my LOB

So, really not even hybrid at that point. Apparently there's not already enough attrition.

my newish boss came over from JPMC and emphaticaly stated that one of the main drivers for people working in financial services is being in the office 100%. He actually believes everyone wants to be back.

There is a group of managers in the Twin Cities scheming with HR and Corporate Properties about this. Each city has them. I have to admit I am a reluctant participant.

I am suspicious they all have stay at home spouses, young kids at home or extramerital affairs. Meaning, they are either lying about their motivations, or are blind and in denial. Maybe they are lonely and pathetic.

Tracking performance eh? Good. I'll be spending my days in the office hanging out, collaborating with random people about sports and the weather and not getting any work done. I'll do all my work on my WFH days, and apparently they will know it. Good.

They promised the regulators we’d come back in and that would help get things under control.

They’re not going to 5 days. They don’t have enough real estate, nor can they afford the additional attrition. They are, however, going to get VERY serious about the 3 days for the vast majority of teams (basically anyone without some kind of exception). Expect impacts to bonus for people who aren’t going in, as well as for their managers.

Not a chance we go to 5 days right now. Attrition is through the roof. Both JPM and Citi have gone backwards to 2 days a week. Whoever started this thread is absolutely clueless.

Have heard that rumor as well. Hybrid is not permanent & never was intended to be. Full RTO is based on function & staffing. Starting June 6 some teams now must adhere to their assigned hours (removing flexibility to come in/leave early). If your hours are 8-5pm then you have to be there at those times. They are tightening ship & tracking everything for performance. Don’t think they aren’t.

In the last COO Townhall, Powell was asked and answered a question if hybrid is temporary and he clearly stated it is going to stay. So, don't be shocked if that is a complete lie knowing the source.

OP here, and not lying, but you're free to believe whatever. I'm just passing along what I've heard, and if you've heard differently perhaps one of us misheard or different LOBs are moving to different policies.

Tiiiiiiiiiiime is on my side, yes it is. Tiiiiiiiiiiime is on my side...

All CEOs are temporary. I can put up with the twerps nonsense for the short time he has left with the company.

Not true, you are such a troll, they are id--ts but they also follow what the rest of banks do, so no! Stop spiking unnecessary fear just because you are frustrated. Once Charlie goes to he-l and rots there, hopefully soon, this bu-----t will no longer applicable. Just wait the piece of cr-p out

Not a surprise, this has been the plan all along.

anyone who thinks WF is going to back off RTO will be sorely mistaken. groups requiring RTO are are already starting enforcement for this not coming in at all and eventually will move up to those not making 3 days. while managers have some individual leeway at the moment that will eventually end especially once the last groups of people get their return dates later this year. eventually, maybe in a year or so, I can see them raining in hybrid and stating to get people back on 5 days a week

In tech for the people that have been on the 2-3 days a week in office, that is soon to become mandatory and will be monitored. Currently it’s being monitored but not enforced. That will change in the coming months.

Because some people aren't coming in at all and now they'll punish everyone

Probably they see recession and reduce head count before other companies freeze.
