Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Why are you still at Ford, honestly?

With all of this hoopla, unstability, mgmt mistakes, etc. Most people have options.

Good pay and benefits. My resume is floating out there but I’m being selective regarding the positions I apply for.

@OP. Because I am lazy. Yes, I should find another job. Yes, I should study to upskill myself. However, I can do that AFTER I get laid off. I have some money squirreled away anyway.

My problem is that IDK what I am going to do next. I know what is not going to be: nor automotive, nor in Michigan. Other than that, I am not sure.

So I am waiting. I know that sooner or later I'll get the tap. I have been waiting for it, so I am surprised that I am still at Ford. My current position does not require big sacrifices of time and effort to deliver my results. After all, I have been doing this for several years now. Every day that I am here, it is another day that I earn a decent paycheck (not LLx), it is another day that I save money and pay the debt, it is another day for me to consider what my future will be.

Well if you hired in after 2004, perhaps you identify with your captors. If you hired in before that, you have 12 years or less until you can collect a pension. Sort of a big deal.
