Thread regarding Ford layoffs

A company gone off track

Watching Ford is like watching a ship sink while no one’s steering. The company’s once strong position has slipped into a joke, but the higher-ups couldn’t care less. As long as their paychecks keep growing, they think everything’s working fine. Meanwhile, the rest of us are just left to watch it all fall apart.

“the bracket dept“

I work as an electrical engineer but it’s quite clear to even me that you don’t make a car without the boxes and brackets.

Don't worry, once Farley straightens out the bracket dept, we will be back on track!

Keep in mind there were survivors from the Titanic accident and a new ship is being rebuilt scheduled to launch in 2027 which would be 115 years post accident. So if you equate the sinking ship analogy to the company, there is always hope...... Just because there may be hard time now, the future could open up new opportunities.......

Software/data, subscriptions. And services do bring revenue to the company. There is no disputing that. However the growth rate is going to take a little more time to get where we want it to. Be patient. Leadership still is working the plan.

And here we are in the New Year with more recalls. Yet the big concern from the top of the house is badge swips and meeting monthly targets. Are you flipping kidding me? THATS what you are focused on?

If a ship is sinking, it goes without saying that they are no longer steering it. Normally, if the ship starts taking on water, the first thing to do would be to stop the ship and send out the location so that help could be sent. This is unless, of course, that the captain isn’t trying to deliberately run it aground.

In Ford’s case, it would seem more that the ship is sinking because of the steering which was input. JF and BF deliberately steered the ship towards the rocks of EVs, subscription services and autonomous vehicles.

Zero accountability for bad decisions, poor executions and lousy quality outcomes leads to this.

@OP. Why not mimic the higher-ups? If the Ford family doesn't give a sh!t about the company, why should you? Get your skills honed, your resume ready, do your job, get your paycheck, and don't forget that you, my friend, are job number one!

Ford was never a "family", and the family owned cr@p works only for the ones with the lastname "Ford". For the rest, FMC is just a job, don't ki-l yourself for free.

You are welcome!
