What is max for WF? Is it 120% of the midpoint?
Midpoint is halfway between the low salary stated number & the high salary stated number. So, if a salary is listed $100,000 to $200,000 the midpoint is $150,000.
“Nobody knows”
OP - Add the min and the max then divide the sum by 2. 80% of final offers will be within a close range to that number.
There are no midpoints anymore. That's why you can't find what they are. They don't exist. You're referring to the legacy ranges where there was a min, midpoint, and max. Now there is a min and a max with no midpoint. For example, if a range is $140k - $300k, you can't say "I want $240k because that's 80% of max". Realistically, most in that range are paid between 65% - 75% of the max.
Midpoint - you’ll fit right in at this company. Welcome to the team.
Following @OP’s question, would 80-85% of the maximum of the range a good offer? I’m genuinely asking a question.
P.S: this is for a job in the UK. Not trying to hate here…
OP, What is the midpoint of your Intelligence Quotient? Is it 50% of the max?
What kind of nonsense question is that?
I believe @OP is confusing midpoint with the legacy idea of market rate. WF used to consider 85% of MRP as being the point where you were expensive enough to promote to the next job title up the ladder, but that died a looooong time ago.
This person is talking about salary yall. Midpoint salary. Say the min is 80k and max is 150k, the midpoint will be around 115k ish.
I understand that the midpoint is 50%, not 80%.
In geometry, the midpoint is the middle point of a line segment. It is equidistant from both endpoints, and it is the centroid both of the segment and of the endpoints. It bisects the segment.
Wouldn't the midpoint be midway between the min and max of the range? I guess I'd take the (max - min)/2 + min = midpoint. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea to take 80% of the max.
It's possible that's near the midpoint but then again it might not be close.
Sorry let me clarify. What is considered the mid point at Wells? Is it 80% of the maximum base salary?
I do not understand your question. Next.
