It is amazing that both the union and the company have not said 1 thing about the extension negotiations. I ask my union reps about it and they just shrug your shoulders and walk away. Also, the company has not said anything about it. Are they close to an agreement, or are they not even on the same page? I guess we will get an answer in August of 2026!

@kk that only applies to the lazy chumps who work from home but get the sick time bonus unlike the REAL workers who’s in the field going in nasty houses to give them vz services and scrutinize harder than anyone in the company with gps 15min increments uniforms and much more
It's been almost 6 weeks since negotiations for a contract extension started and no news at all from company or union. It's either going really good or really bad ! What do you guys think ?
I was actually hoping for a strike .This would be the first time in New Jersey we would be able to collect unemployment.I could use a nice paid vacation even if it’s like a year unemployment.Less taxes owed.Come on think about it we could be on nice vacations.I just believe they are n ver gonna let that happen we will just settle
@ps First you'd need to learn how to actually fix something.
Here's hoping for a strike. Bring on the overtime baby. CHA-CHING.
We're not talking about a whole new contract! It's an extension of the o e we already have. Its basically 99% done already. It's just wages, health care, outsourcing work and I'm sure a few other things like retiree benefits a d the like . why is this taking over a month ? Somebody is playing hardball !!
In the past it took more than a year to sort out strike assignments and exemptions, put tens of thousands of managers through multi-day training etc. The training started in the spring the year before I think.
Slam and bi--h about the union but let's hear what everyone has to say when they outsource your or more jobs to HCL or offshore to VZ in Ireland etc. I just don't understand all the hate.
Mamdhani nyc new mayor is making minimum wage what verizon techs wage is
Re : Post ID: @b6+1jyhexk9h . Why would there be strike preparations now , contract ends next summer ?
No strike preparation this summer speaks loudly.
OP...You're whining isn't going to change anything...Call your Union office and ask for an E Board member and ask them.
They should have just never said anything about the talks from day one and we wouldn't have thought about it at all.
1101 has been updating is since last week. I just got the email about funding.
We all know the union reps are useless .
You nailed the mood — silence is the new strategy. Both sides are treating communication like a liability instead of a responsibility. The union reps shrug, leadership hides behind NDAs, and employees are stuck in the waiting room of corporate ambiguity.
Meanwhile, the only “project” anyone can confirm is Project 624 — the unspoken countdown to workforce reductions dressed up as transformation. Nobody walks, nobody talks, and the only thing moving is the calendar.
At this point, 2026 might be optimistic. The real question: are we negotiating, or just running out the clock?
