How are people getting around the non compete clause

I've been here 3 years and over it but don't know how I can keep the same pay if I was to move to a different industry. Can't move to a competitor for 3 months in my role so I'm stuck

They won’t enforce unless you actively flaunt it. Just be smart.

Noncompete is very hard to enforce and the way FIS is bleeding money, I highly doubt they would make the spend unless you personally did something to a high level exec.

I agree with the last comment here. I live in a right to work state. Even with a non-compete, you shouldn't worry about it (if you're in one). And normally, your industry just refers to the type of company. FIS is a FINtech, so if you're super worried about in, just go somewhere that doesn't work in finance.

Unless you are VP or C level going to a competitor is a tough burden for the former employer to enforce. Most states are a right to work state. It's a double edged sword. Your employer can cut you loose at anytime BUT in the same clause you have a right to work with your expertise. Fis can try to take you to court or arbitration but in the end they can't deny you the right to work. They can't say well you have to wait tables for 3 months until the non-compete expires.

@OP What makes you believe they'd enforce it when they're actively shedding employees? Don't tell them what you're doing or where you're going.
