Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

No longer feeling safe

Seeing so many amazing people let go during recent layoffs has been a harsh wake-up call. Doesn’t matter how good you are or how solid the numbers are, if the execs want cuts, you're out. Take care of yourself first. These companies are not your safety net.

@OP Yep there are people in the Command Center and Service Desk who are absolutely amazing. They will be gone in a month or so. It is sad, and I feel like they are being made to pay for bad decisions made at a higher level. They won't be the last either. Someone can come in the office 5x a week. Never call in sick. Do a ton of work. Earn degrees and certificates. Nail their development and work goals. It won't matter. My fiancee works in a company more in the manufacturing sector and they are hiring like crazy. Keep learning and keep your appearance and outlook up. Those things may or may not help here, but people will be in a stronger position should they need to find new work. Hang in there. When I get down, I try to remember others are dealing with this too. Good people will land on their feet one way or another : - )
