Today, after 11 years with Verizon, I learned that my position—R2B Wisconsin—was eliminated as part of the 13,000 roles impacted across the company.
It’s a strange thing to watch a decade of your life shift in a single morning. But even in the heaviness, I’m choosing to pause and honor what these 11 years gave me.
This company helped me build a beautiful life—
• A wedding I’ll remember forever
• Vacations and milestones
• Friendships that became family
• Customers who became familiar faces and part of my weekly rhythm
• Promotions that stretched me into someone stronger, more capable, and more resilient
I am grateful. Truly.
To Anyone Reading This—Especially If You Don’t Know Jesus Yet
I can’t talk about loss without talking about the One who is holding me steady right now.
If you don’t know Jesus, this is your invitation to begin. You don’t need a church service or a perfect life. You just need a moment. Open a Bible, or download one from the App Store. Start with the Psalms, start with John… just start.
Because He is near the brokenhearted.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
He wants you to lean on Him in seasons of uncertainty. He isn’t distant from our suffering—He steps into it with us. If you already have a relationship with Him, hold on even tighter. Anchor yourself. Let Him carry the questions and the fear.
To My Verizon Family—Past and Present
I love you all, and I’m praying for every single person impacted today. This is a collective grief, a shared moment none of us expected. But I believe God will guide each of us into our next chapter with purpose and provision.
We are not without hope.
We are not without direction.
And we are certainly not walking this alone.
