IT Secretly Scans All Laptops for Jiggle Software

Wait until employees find out that IT was directed to remotely scan ALL laptop computers, looking for any software that could be used to appear the user is active online.

Typically used to simulate the mouse is in use, a comprehensive report has been shared with senior management and is now under review for what repercussions will be taken.

Irregardless if there is a legitimate reason for it, i.e attending a marathon online meeting or conducting a presentation and you don’t want your laptop to go to sleep, all those on the report are expected to be in for a big surprise.

Be prepared.

@187 this person speaks the truth; any device connected via USB shows up in your device manager as a new entry. That's how IT "finds" your mouse jiggle, because it's another device driver.
All they need to do is see that everyone has 1-2 mice plugged (touchpad, and/or main mouse), and then spot the "3rd" mouse that must be the jiggle.
If you honestly need to keep your screen awake, just change your power plan to "display -sleep, never" .
Or.... find a paperweight. IYKYK

Don’t be stupid… NEVER plug a USB mouse mover directly into the work computer! Even if your reasoning for using one is valid (I use mine to keep my computer from falling asleep when running long scripts that tie up everything else). Grab a USB wall plug from your junk drawer, I’m sure you have one laying around.

Since when is it a shock that CUSA IT scans their own computer property? Educate yourself and stop posting stupid stuff.

I use a mouse juggler to make sure scheduled Power BI refreshes are completed when I am off. So, I guess I will need to get up early to manually refresh Power Bi reports on my days off, holidays, and weekends? Senior Management can buzz off because they have no clue how things work.

Are you telling me that people can download and install third party applications on their own computer? I can’t even download a Canon printer driver without an IT ticket. Lol
