I see some notes here saying hot line is not HR. A few years ago, I called the company hotline to report an unethical practice. I left a message, and the next morning someone called me back saying they were from Exxon HR. They told me they needed evidence related to the incident. I explained that I used the hotline because I thought it was anonymous and I didn’t want retaliation. Of course, they had my phone number and could match it to my profile easily. A few weeks later, our department head pulled me aside and said, “Focus on your work, I’ll take care of the incident you raised concerns about.” Neither HR nor I followed up after that.

I reported an issue to HR.
I was threatened by the Country Manager to write to HR stating that I no longer had the issue or I would lose my job.
EM does everything possible to stop complaints, and nothing to stop what was reported.
@OP EM is very corrupt, trust no one, also I personally know of an issue where they paid bribes in a foreign country
I know when that hotline blink.
@az Actually snitching is rewarded in EM. Hotline is supposed to help you with harassment, hostile work environment as well
Just remember, HR is there to protect the company first, not necessarily you. I had a colleague who raised an issue before, and not long after that she somehow ended up on the “to get rid of” list. Quite pity lah.
Snitches get stitches.
Don’t pi-p out your coworkers for this company.
It’s not worth it.
I reported misconduct and witnesses are reluctant to speak up. They finally remove me from the harassment situation and then conveniently forget 2 years later. When the culprit has impact on your work, of course there is a way to retaliate.
