Portfolio SE Specialization Model

With so much more now on their plate, portfolio SEs will be going to a specialization model. It will be a pooled model within their region.

Portfolio AEs will use AI for SE support initially then engage the appropriate portfolio specialization SE as the opportunity gets qualified.

None of this makes any sense and sounds like complete and utter BS. And if this is the case, all of the portfolio SE’s can all become AE’s and earn a sh-t load more money for a lot less hassle!

Wait, so AEs will not have a dedicated SE? It's another clikc 2 expert thing in Fy27?

Reframing all of this:
Generalist Portfolio SEs will be moving to a specialized (focused) support model so they can go deeper with narrower focus, while specialized SEs (TMEs already with narrow focus) are moving to a generalized wider focused support model. That only makes sense if the true underlying end-game is to reduce SE count overall. It doesn’t matter what they say or how they try to sell it internally, this outcome aligns best with those actions. I guess our real deal and transparency policy doesn’t apply here.

Is there any information on who will be selecting which SEs will be impacted? SE Managers? SE Directors? Or higher up?

@ns Right. And many specialists wont want to or can't cut being generalist...25+ yr R/S ain't gonna go sell AI clusters. hence the 20%+ coming H2 nxt year.

Unlikely. Portfolio teams are currently taking large numbers of specialists and redeploying them as generalists as part of LFG27.

Coming to CX services soon. Ad Hoc consulting. Someone wants a consultant, click and workflow is created, engineer assigned. Talk about slug work. It's like working a help desk part of your time.

Knipp went to spread his cancerous ways at the heart of another tumor in cisco. He managed to move to CX for a SVP promotion. He also got his wife a job as Sr. Director in strategy planning group for global specialists data center before he moved from the global specialist org to CX.

@OP so the portfolio SEs and AEs use to work as a team. Are you saying the SEs are now pooled resources based on specialization? What happened to SEs that covered specific technologies, like security?

So what does this mean? I was under the impression that specialists were converting to portfolio SEs. Did that happen?

Click2Expert 2.0 because the first time went so well. Cisco senior exec's are as original as hollywood. Always the same failed unoriginal playbooks repeated with the current FY powerpoint template.
