Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

NYS sick time

Anyone seeing a major issue with this? It’s constantly the same people calling out and even if you know they’re laying on a beach somewhere as long as they say “ I’m sick “ mgmt cannot do anything until they’ve used all 13 allotted days. Meanwhile everyone else on the team stays getting screwed over

@1htr

Please come back when you’re displaced and let us know whether you received 2 weeks or 12 weeks of Sub.

May 24th Prediction:

Robin will have a massive June displacement of those who have not been regularly coming into the office. This displacement will offer only two weeks of pay. There will be no Sub. So we will be like the vast majority of other non-Union companies.

Unfortunately we appear to have driven him to this. Jerking around the C.E.O. On his first initiative really was kind of stupid.

All that the slackers are achieving is to ensure that the displaced receive 2 weeks of Sub instead of 2 weeks for every year of employment.

You’re all Frustrated with Robin after the wondrous Todd era, I get it and I miss it too. Thing is that you’re mailing it in and b1tching constantly because Robin is not like Todd.

We all understand that Robin wants butts in seats at the office and will soon be putting the hammer down. Unlike Todd, you’re going to be lucky to get two weeks of pay.

Mark my words.

@OP, lucky for you NYS forces companies to provide menstrual leave. I thinks it's time for you to use it.

@2wja

They’re meant for illness or medical appointments. Vacation days are for your paid time off. All you’re going to do is ruin it for everybody by misusing your benefits. I’ve never seen this level of disengagement.

Let's see, enabling workers to take leave when they are sick to recover and avoid passing on sickness to their colleagues or others. Or to care for sick kids or other family members. Wow, what a backward policy. No other developed country would allow ... oh.

Hopefully Robin will do the needful, without Sub.

Explain how you’re getting screwed over - you have 13 sick days as well. Don’t complain that other people are smart enough to use the days they give you and you’re not.

How are you getting screwed over? Use your 13 days! Common sense - they give you 13 sick days - use em or lose em!

I’m sure some fake it to stay out of the office but to suggest bad actors when you sit in the office and hear people coughing and sneezing around you is a bit of a reach. These offices are not cleaned. These people should be working from home, if we’re truly flexible, but are there to meet the inane swipe requirement.

This is obviously what management wanted when they tried to shove RTO down our throats. Now they can deal with the consequences of their poor decisions.

There’s only going to be an increase in sick time with mandated days in office.
