@OP. I find the title of this thread a little bit misleading... Ii would seem as if the EV sales were great before (there weren't). Yes, the sales are better than before, but I think we have saturated the EV market of those clueless young professionals willing to spend too much money in another "save the planet" scam.

Regular people cannot afford a BEV as a second or third vehicle, and for many folks out there, the BEVs cannot be the primary or only vehicle due to its shortcomings. It is time that auto manufacturers raise the performance bar while dropping the prices, or lose the competition with ICE.

I bought a model y over july 4th weekend. Can't speak to if EV sales are up or down but one thing for sure, there's definitely a lot of interest or curiosity about EVs. The store was packed. To be fair was also at a fancy mall so maybe that's not typical.

Btw don't judge me, it's a nice car and I frankly have ptsd from prior dealership experiences.
