Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The underdefined hybrid working model is going to cauae happiness on the ground

Jealous, envy .. whatever it is.. if you see your colleauges who WFO 5 days per week as you before covid but post covid they WFO 1 day per week or biweekly or monthly while you have to WFO 2 or 3 times a week because your manager mandate it. The sentiment on the ground will not be good.

Oh, no, jealousy among employees. However will corporations survive? Twenty years ago it was window offices, now it's the ability to work from home more often. Get a clue and get a life.

If the team come in office, then the manager is not the one you need to give the excuse any more. The teammates will complain about how not productive with the WFH holdout and the WFH guy will be replaced. @lef

@lef+1nGHQxz1 when you have a team coming to office and you not in office, what excuse you are going to give to you manager? Because WFH is more productive ?

Typical Intel employee WFH excuse (and yes, it works):

From: Bleeds Blue
To: My Org
Subject: Bleeds Blue WFH Today

My cat fluffy coughed up a furball this morning, and I'll be working from home today to keep an eye on her. Contact me via email or IM if you need anything.

The employee then queues up a mouse jiggler app on their laptop to make Teams display an online status without user interaction.

Just keep working from home and ignore what your boss says about coming in to office.
That is what I'm doing, while working a second job from home.
Hopefully, I'll get a package from Intel so I can get a third WFH job.

If you want to work remotely, get a remote job. If you want to work in an office, get an office job. If you want to work in the woods, get a park ranger job. If you want to drive the trash truck, get a job with waste management.

Stop whining, this is not news

different logic. making more money is by performance, hard work, luck and sometimes x factor. what I mentioned has nothing to do with all above. Is simply based on different groups or department mandate. Before covid is company mandate 5 days per week regardless you education, job grade, skills etc. After covid is manager mandate. if colleagues from other team who have the same education, same skills, same performance but just that the group managers mandate the TEAM (no special treatment to "ROLE MODEL") to come to office more, then there is different practices in the same company (not talking about case by case basis). Most companies has set a defined clearly when they set up the hybrid model but Intel leaves thing ambiguous which can lead to unhappiness on the ground.

@OP Well if you are going to use the same logic, "Why do some make more money than others?" -Well, because they are better educated, and/or have jobs where that can be done. If a, "not fair," person objects, they can upskill!

not all manager same. most manager imo would rather you quit even if you are "role model" . you are supposed to work as a team and follow what the team is doing . "role model" no special treatment. maybe you have a super small team, that's why

Well, if you are lazy and your performance is just ok go to the office. Maybe you will focus on work and do your job. I am role model and I had a talk with my manager, he knows that I will rather quit than get back to office.
