Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The summer interns will be making 50% more than me

Just saw a job listing for summer interns… $36/hour.

I’ve worked here over 10 years, have moved roles multiple times, and the interns will make 150% of my hourly rate. Must be nice.

Get a better job? Go get the degree they have? Work on your skills and enhance your employability? If you don't have an equal degree or background then why would you? Nobody is stopping you from doing what you need to in order to get to where they are or above except for you. I went from unemployable with a cr-p first degree 15 years ago to being at a level 5 position making almost 200k base now. But you have to put the work in, get better degrees, make the right moves, etc to do that. If you don't, you won't. I've spent over a decade of my life getting bachelor's and masters degrees in areas that would be employable in numerous areas to make sure I'm never unemployable again. It wasn't handed to me though, I had to put the work in to do it.

Opportunities are made. You want a job, reach out to the hiring manager and ask what he/she looks for in an idea candidate and then get to work on being that candidate. Then when the time comes, go get the job.

I've done this with every single job I've had and I have yet to not get hired when a position was posted.

As of the last release I saw, half of the employees of the company made less than (around) $36/hour, and that was before all the off-shoring.

JFC. How dare anyone question the OP's judgment? Many people work very hard and make peanuts. That is common in the U.S. system.

Maybe consider you've had more advantages and opportunities than the OP. Be kind or be silent.

@inx they are actually all from either India or the Philippines if you saw the names. Not aMary Kate or Ashley among them. Maybe they are the kids of the Sr Managers from over there?

You need a life coach. You're doing something really wrong if you are only making $4 above the corporate minimum wage after 10 years.

Wait until you find out that all the interns are just kids of senior managers
