Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Exec team has severely miscalculated offshoring

11 years of working remotely with 5+ years of being told I'm in a targeted group. Then the scripted call earlier this year saying I may be affected by location strategy in Q3. You'll understand my skepticism, particularly after the last round of cuts made me effectively irreplaceable since nobody on either side of the pond wants my hours (including me but it pays well and my manager allows me lots of flexibility).

Contrast that with our India staff now fighting to work normal Indian business hours and days rather than cover US hours. They have also shifted resources away from our busiest times and are not nearly as dedicated to working extra to keep the bank running as we are. This executive team has severely miscalculated what they can buy with the pennies they are willing to spend.

Our US staff will stay and ensure the work gets done, India staff DGAF.

Very good observation, @hsy+1u0nt1Q0. I think a lot of US companies will face problems because of the offshoring. Needless to say, they should lose some privileges in the US because of the offshoring policies, while us, employees, should realize that we have more bargaining power than we think.

Over a thousand people a month are being s canned, and the vast majority of them are going to the office and are not being allowed to relocate to a hub or are already in one. This has nothing to do with compliance or location. Breaking news, Hudson Yards is lying to you, about all of it.

Just so we can get true too, but the bots are saying but they’re not true because they’re just all ignorant.

I’m just gonna tell you what I know, you have to get back to the office and if you don’t do that you’re gonna be laid off that’s all that is going on right now.

I’m sorry if you’re not in a hub space but that is what’s going on with layoffs.

Y'all are taking this post out of context. The original OP clarified that India is already setting itself up to lose WF jobs to the next lowest bidder.

Agree that @OP didn't need to repost this in its own thread, it was context-specific and that loss of context has a bunch of uninformed assumptions sprouting up.

It's very dangerous to assume that Hudson Yards cares what works and what doesn't. They really don't. They don't consider any Americans to be irreplaceable but themselves. Unless your job is required to be in the US by law, they are scheming to get rid of you. Maybe not right now, but eventually.

American should start withdrawing their money from US banks and bank else where.

This is dangerously delusional. There’s always a lower bidder.

Lol that the American worker has stockholm syndrome to the degree that thinking the amount of abuse he takes makes him “irreplaceable”

Who is demanding that they not work us hours? I am sure it is written in all their contracts or employment agreements somewhere.

Careful mentioning collective bargaining on here or that one nut will spend half his night downvoting you over and over

Just respond to the comment on the original post then? It's not like this board is lacking for complaints about outsourcing, this didn't need to be a post.

The cost savings are like Gatsby’s orgastic future that year by year recedes before us.
