Jamie Dimon Declares War on Productivity—Bring Back the Commute!

Jamie Dimon has spoken during OH meeting: If he can’t see you suffering in a cubicle, you’re not actually working. Forget data, studies, or, you know, reality—true efficiency is measured by how many hours you waste in traffic just to open the same laptop at a different desk.

He says companies that allow remote work will fail. Meanwhile, half his in-office employees are perfecting the art of looking busy while secretly job-hunting. Maybe the real inefficiency is forcing people back just so he can feel like a 1950s factory boss.

Stop will all this millennial entitled whining. Back in my day we went to the office every day. We rolled up our sleeves and worked until the job was done. We respected the flag and the cross.

This is shameful behavior coming from the most entitled generation to walk the face of this god blessed country.

Companies that have a majority of jobs that could be done remotely, but choose to make their workforce RTO all week should be required to pay a special tax for adding unnecessary carbon emissions to the planet.

Your firm is no different using Teams calls to meet with team members in the same office space. This is happening at Fiserv.

AI is taking over lots of banking work. More layoffs in most industries will come which raises unemployment number which Trump will try to blame Biden for.

"You goof off more at home, then you can get away doing it if you are required to work in the office. You are just in denial how big of a true slacker you really are."

  1. When do you intend on ending outsourcing since that is not face to face?

You don't want to be a hypocrite.

  1. What tax breaks do you get when you have people work from the office?

Also does it make it easier to satisfy H1b requirements since your talent pool must come from those who live locally instead of the entire US which could work remotely?

  1. If we work from the office, that is fine. We want to get paid for our contributions. We would like a list each year of what each person contributed and how much they got paid for it. Fair is fair.

"JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon lashed out at employees who had been strongly advocating for the Wall Street giant to ease up on its five-day return-to-office policy.

"Don't waste time on it. I don't care how many people sign that f---ing petition," Dimon said when asked about the in-person work policy during a town hall meeting Wednesday, according to a recording reviewed by Reuters."

It is time for Mr Dimon to be thoroughly investigated and to retire.
I am pretty sure he has been living inside a glass house.

Well said.

Stop letting facts get in the way of the narrative and stop confusing facts with reality!

Any inefficiencies caused as a result of RTO policies will be limited to middle management and below, as it always does.

These POS CEO's need to stop globalizing the company and forcing all of our interactions to be on Teams Meetings because the necessary folks we need to collaborate with are all in different sites around the world. Just because Jamie can physically meet with his C-suite day-to-day, that doesn't mean the rest of the workforce can do that. Many of us can't collaborate in person even if we report to an office every day. It's just total BS.
