People managers are already having to do 4. I can easily see an scenarios where at least senior managers have a mandatory 5 days office.

The FAQ for the manager roll out clearly indicated 5 days was a possibility, just saying currently 5 days was not required.

And this post is exactly the issue haven’t even gone back to 4 yet and some mo--ns posting about 5

@dd - Do you work here? What gives you the impression that they are worried about competing for talent. Have you met the recent hires?

how is moving to 5 days competing? if you want to compete for talent you would be more enticing to offer 4 day work weeks.

4 days by Sept. MDs/SDs and Ds will be 5 weeks by May 2025 and then the entire Firm 5 days by Sept 2026. Don’t kid yourself….Vince wants to compete with JP, GS, MS..they are all 5 days …no way is he going to stay at 4 days. It’s inevitable.

People weren’t doing 5 days in before covid. There is no reason to be in the office 5 days a week. I’ve got loud mouths that sit directly behind me and they don’t shut up! The entire day is filled with non-stop blabbing and eating. Sensory overload!! Butts in seats doesn’t equal productivity.

I understand there will be an announcement at the end of April stating the expectation is staff will be in office for four days a week by the end of September 2025. Based in Manchester.

Not sure of your situation but it depends on how much you trust and know your manager. In this new age of te---r brought to us by the current ‘black and tans’ regime, you should probably talk to someone in HR first just by discussing options and explaining your situation and giving whatever proof you need. Like the one poster below says ‘its a super way to get rid of people with 5 days’. So in a way, your direct management is sort of neutered here even if they want to be good to you. Because if they do it for you, then they should do it for everyone and they can’t. This place blows ‘work life balance’ out of it’s behind and doesn’t seriously believe in any of it. Research options before talking to HR and just be general and confidential.

Thoughts.
It’s a superb way for Robin and HR to turbocharge getting rid of people using 5 days in the office. This would assure both attrition and expanded use of the kindergarden attendence tracker to eliminate people with no severance.
And then, when the great banking warlord who fancies himself a genius beyond that of JP Morgan and Hamilton, sees his targets met…. He will generously grant the survivors of this carnage - a brand new Robin benefit courtesy: Work remotely for 1 day a week. Only If you are good!

At the rate they are laying off/outsourcing, it won't take long before there is.

I think we will go back full time in the office. I think it will happen sooner than 24 months, most of the other firms are doing the same.

Is there enough space for a full RTO in the US ?
