Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Loyalty is over. We are now “market driven”

According to our genius leader, we have shifted from a loyalty culture to being market-driven.

Connectivity is a commodity, despite what our leader says.

There is now no reason to stick with an AT&T plan if you are paying more than the competitors. The lowest cost alternative for your bandwidth needs will likely be your best value.

There is no need for team employees to stay loyal as subscribers. Be market driven, and find the plan that works best for you.

@a3 that was the 1st phase about 18 years ago or so just before Whittacre left, The great idea was called "collaboration zones" we lost skills that were never replaced. Now the Bald Dummy is trying the same failed process under a new name.. Only in corporate America can you FUMU as a CEO.. but as an employee, you pull out your P-card to get gas not realizing you swiped the company card instead of your own card and Asset Protection comes at you like you bought DTV and Warner for like $49 Billion and sold it, while losing probably $70 billion after the dust settles. wow that sounds familiar

Some people confuse loyalty with lazy. You want loyalty? More work, less complaining.

Loyalty is getting a paycheck. Market-driven is when you actually have to work. Ow.

stank passing loyalty through the arch of triumph — only disposable employees need apply — no mastery of craft, but passersby along with foreign labor

disposable labor doesn’t come cheap — better start working on those high salaries and benefits or they won't show up for interviews

Stankey does not want any employees with over 3 years service. Get out or get kicked out.

Treat it as a job, too many people here living in the past. You do realize they ended pension plans for new employees 10 years ago, that’s why the work force is older. All the young people are market based, thus they bounce as soon as a better offer comes around. I’m here for a check, don’t care about whatever culture you’re pushing.

"Surely this started years ago"

I know it started years ago, and quit calling me Shirley!

Stank's statement that loyalty means nothing anymore is more of a warning to the younger employees. There is no reason to stick around this company anymore. Squeeze what you can and move on. Use AT&T increase your salary at the next company. The best and brightest will definitely do that going forward as there is no incentive to stay.

OP-

Also, loyalty has been LONG over from T as an employer to employee.

Ask anyone that has been surplussed simply due to being in the wrong zip code, NO MATTER how excellent an employee you are!

That train left the station a long time ago.
