As much as it’s their dream scenario, they can’t run the company without us. If we had been unified from the start, no one would have shown up when hybrid work was first introduced, let alone for full RTO. They get away with this because we let them. This is on us.

“It’s impossible to unify when the boomers are scared shitless to leave.”
It was the pre-Medicare retiree medical benefit and plentiful vacation days that kept me here for decades. That and earned vacation gone. I gotta get repaid for those losses somehow. Not gonna just take the L. They could make an offering if they want us gone; bump up the pension calculation and a year’s salary might work.
" You even contradict yourself in your own post . . . 'they did not do a survey because the previous survey results were so bad, so don't do the survey to teach them'.
You actually misquoted/ misrepresented me there. In my comments I stated that they will not release the results of the 3rd party (McKinsey) OHI (Organizational Health Index...commonly referred to as the "culture" survey) taken last March, despite Stankey promising to do so before it was taken, because the results were so bad and painted the executives in such a poor light, to the extent that even THEY couldn't spin anything positive from it.
The next survey will be one of the "regular", though not so "regular" as of late, Employee Engagement Surveys. I tend to agree with you that we won't see it until later this year. I disagree with you on the tactic for dealing with it. I have been around a while. In the past I too have hammered them on these things (in a professional manner). I have come to firmly believe that if a majority of management simply refused to participate, it would send a FAR more effective message. The survey has "engagement" in the title. The VPs of these orgs are essentially "graded" on the participation levels of their respective teams. This is why they and their Directors push so hard trying to convince everyone to take it. I honestly don't think they care what is in it. They DO care about the participation rate.
No it's not silly.
FAAFO! They really want you to. No show no job.
"Because extremely low participation is the only way to send a message on those."
You are completely wrong . . . so wrong in fact that I wonder if you are one of those Stankey sycophants. You even contradict yourself in your own post . . . 'they did not do a survey because the previous survey results were so bad, so don't do the survey to teach them'.
No -- You do the next survey and hammer them again, even harder. Do I expect change, absolutely not. But I am not going to let all the answer come from the sycophants.
And, more than likely the next survey will not be released until after the wave 3 folks are off the books in July 2025. Even Paschal Theroaches said he knows the 2023 survey would have been much worse if they had done it after the RTO announcement.
"It’s impossible to unify when the boomers are scared shitless to leave"
As a soon to be retiree, I wish there was a real push to unify. I would openly sign the petition and mail my signature to the Stank.
It’s impossible while you still have so many sycophants. They claim they are coming out with an Employee Engagement survey later this year.
If you could somehow get as close to 100% non participation from management as possible, it would send such a strong message. Especially after the shelving of the results promised from Stank in the OHI survey last year. Now they straight up lie about it when asked where those results that Stank promised would be shared are. They say they don’t want to cause “confusion” between those results, and the regular employee engagement surveys.
The reality is the results from the OHI survey were so bad, illustrating such a distrust and disdain of executive management, that there was simply no way to “spin” them.
But there are still many sycophants here. So when they announce this next Employee Engagement survey and once again your VP and Director and AD get their marching orders to pressure everyone to take it, most of you will still comply. Which is a shame. Because extremely low participation is the only way to send a message on those.
I agree, but when I hear unify, I hear unionize.
Yet, I have not seen a single correspondence from the CWA.
Post your concerns to the chain of command. Ask your manager.

Totally agree with Post ID: @a4+1jgv328c6. They do not care. They will automate, contract out, offshore everything and anything they possibly can. Years ago, I felt the CEO and BOD should have just sold the company (this was before the disasters of T-Mob, DirecTV, TimeWarner) and just use the proceeds of the sale and buy into an S&P 500 index fund/ETF. Just get the gains every year. They don't act like they wanted to be the best of the best.
They don’t care. Purpose of RTO is to get rid of you. They love to see you quit. Afters selling whatever possible, Stankey is selling people. Then he will sell T. He realized T is finished. There is no innovation here, no possibility for growth. Competition is many light years ahead of us. We are fu…ed.
