@fp
He is slowly getting ready to pull the cord. But not before he can milk it all, as long as possible. Once the chute is descending slowly toward WPB, he will look around the fiery rain of fragments, with disdain and scorn, and understated glee, and pure joy and satisfaction, at a job well done. For this — THIS — is reward enough.
@fp You trust your father's, brother's , sister's, girlfriend's, former roommate?
@fg A few months back my sources told me the CEO has an office at his second home in Florida, and working there counts as being in the office. Last week I was told that while he still has a place in NY, the Florida home is now his primary residence. Do what you will with this, but this came from people I trust.
@dk Anything to push people to leave.
@e3 Uh right except they keep changing their minds about which locations are "core."
CEO himself literally has a direct report that is remote. What's HE waiting for? This clown is such an evil little failed man.
any person in a non-sanctioned location (core or specialty for your LOB) must be exited by EOY 2027. exceptions are rare, for specified reasons and signed off by DR to OC and OC member.
exits are: displace for efficiency, term for performance, voluntary relocation (no "offer" of relo).
Co-Location will be a huge factor moving forward.
People are still claiming that they cant come into the office because of “plumbing” issues but they just got back from a plane ride to Europe. However, they cant sit in the office and need a medical.
Location strategy is easy to figure out and predict.
Just be in a location that your manager knows and you will be displaced. Simple. It’s just a matter of time for them to get around to you .
Right now, Finance is working on the 2027 Budget which will include provisions for severance. I was in a meeting where a senior leader said that the CEO is tired of middle management dragging out keeping the remote population around. So, 2027 will likely be a mandatory push.
In some cases, yes, but not all. Sharts exec assistant is fully remote and not due to a closure.
Full time remote means your building or floor was downsized or exited and you were placed as "remote" because your business isn't ready to lay you off yet. Once they hire in another market or are otherwise ready, you are out. Remote is just a holding status before they get rid of you.
@a4 I am also getting displaced next week. Remote in Tech.
There's almost 10k remotes still, but they are overrepresented in all the larger rounds of layoffs. If I was fully remote still, I'd presume it's a matter of time.
In SW Va. nowhere near a hub, remote for 10 years, kind of hoping to be let go but still need to work about 3 more years, so whatever happens. Haven’t been to a WF office in years. Not sure how I’ve flown under the radar this long. Manager just tells me to keep going…good luck to all.
Remote IT worker here, expect to be a casualty of location strategy next Tuesday.
Next wave is coming for Tech - later this year
Some areas have put it on hold since severance costs are too high. Focusing on getting people to quit or manage them out instead for the time being.
Dead.
