Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Westlake relocation

I was asked to relocate to westlake from Boston if I wish to continue in my current team.

Else my role is in the process of being backfilled.

What does it mean for me? I am worried, I am in Wealth

Never ever relocate for a job. I watched around 2012 when folks were asked to relocate from MMK to NC, only to be laid off about 8 months later. Imagine uprooting your family's life, selling your house, buying another one, and then being let go less than a year later. Horrible experience. A nightmare. Now is the time to find another job in your current location.

Remote workers are definitely at higher risk as fido wants everyone to be in the office.

But asking a full timer of years to uproot their lives is pathetic

It seems fidelity has seriously lost it.

Next pulse survey can’t be here anytime soon.

I thought i was the only one asked to move from NC to Boston.

Will be interesting to see what the so called CIOs have to say during next All associates meeting.

Were you told what would happen if you didn't move? I am a remote worker being asked to move, and if I don't, my employment ends at EOY.
