Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Intelligted future

So what do you think is the future after today's Zoom meeting?

Some sentences like "untill contract is finished" leaked during speeches. Also the note about employees not allowed to jump a ship into different SBGs during the process.

Who might be interesting in buying Intelligrated?

Intelligrated, and Alvey before them, made bank on parcel handling. Honeywell was not able to understand the business and this blew it. There is much money to be made in distribution. Honeywell simply blew it.

A word of advice. If you work for a material handling company that starts getting into the parcel work , start looking for a new job. You don’t want to be the last one to go down with that ship. Seen this ruin many companies.

I saw something where they may be setting up an office in a place called Bryson City NC and paying people a lot of money to relocate there.

The Parcel business has tanked many companies , of course this one was doomed without the extra help

@ck HON went all in catering to AMZ, and UPS, and at the same time had a brilliant (not) idea to move TRNS and Intelligrated manufacturing to Mexico. What could possibly go wrong? Not to disparage the workforce in MX, but they don’t have the decades of work experience and tribal knowledge of the US workers. It’s been a series of failed business decisions.

Long ago John Waldron began the systematic dismantling of the respected, prosperous Intelligrated business due to not understanding the material handling business and customers. It never recovered from the RIF’s of highly skilled engineers and knowledgeable sales staff and project managers. Death by a thousand cuts. We need a material handling company to buy Intelligrated to retain employees with material handling knowledge and current customer base.

@cd PE would be good for PSS. They have decent businesses in software idk about the hardware it seems legacy. PSS software just needs investment and I get why Honeywell doesn’t want to invest - they have different end markets than the rest of the company. Would be interested to hear if any non PE firms buy it up.

The plant in Mexico is an absolute disaster. No sane company would buy IA after seeing through the outright lies about that facility.

Sadly we saw it all coming, in 2022 a couple of posters laid it all out on here in detail including the deposition of DA, the split up, asset stripping to prop up stock and gradual sell off of the businesses. People aggressively laughed them off (probably Honeywell HR internal actors who were once very active on this site), they are not laughing now. Wether they were in the know or it was just plain obvious, every move was predicted. I saw R&D decimated from 2018 onwards. No product, no business. It was a planned asset heist pure and simple, a group of people made a heck ton of money before running off into the sunset. So very, very sad to see this once great business robbed. If Honeywell had leadership with integrity it could have been an industrial monster right now with everyone enjoying the spoils. Now a disgusting business with disgusting people.

Integrated couldn’t deliver for Amazon and was effectively black balled. They can only hope bezos retires to enjoy his time with the current wife.

Intelligrated has ZERO value except its parts business. PSS will be a good one for PE. Next ones are Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions

I would not rule out just selling the intellectual property and dumping the physical assets, sites and resources. They could make a profit, and take a tax write off. I imagine the building in Mason could fetch a premium price, provided they no longer have any obligation to the State of Ohio on it.

I can imagine that somebody is interested in US/Imperial portfolio even without recently closed sites. But the rest in Europe, India and bits in China, that is big question about their survivability. And Mexico will probably depend on final Trump tariffs.
