Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Summer vibe

Are people taking time off this summer? Or will they take that against us for the next go-round?

quiet quitting doesn't require PTO hours. just save up and cash out when it's time.

You earned those PTOs and they’re part of your compensation package. If Nike didn’t offer PTO, the company would have to pay you more in other ways.

And let’s be honest about what matters during layoffs at Nike. It’s about connections and whose team you’re on, not time offs or even performance. Don’t blame yourself for using a benefit that’s part of your pay.

My manager is in India and he's never online even during their work hours only responding to occassional emails. It's like he's on permanent PTO and I am jealous

Yes. Good PTO is one of the few solid things about Nike.

Also, how would they hold it against you?

Don’t make work your life. No one is impressed by the person who never takes time away.
