Maybe that's a bit harsh to say, but my opinion is that the leadership is actually ruining this company really fast. The only question is how much longer all this will last, that is, how long before it hits the rock bottom. I hope it won't come to that.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Crown Castle died when Ben Mooreland resigned/retired. Remember, Crown isn't your life, it's just a job. Let Crown Castle become American Tower, if you lose your job in this layoff, then wear it like a badge of honor and find a better job. Crown Castle will quickly become a worse place to work, with constant fear of loss of employment, no faith in leadership, and no trust that the company is looking to better it's employees. Don't waste your life stressing over your job title, especially where they value employees less than investor dollars.
