Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

V Secretly Messing With T

Heard from a very good source high up in V that they are very much aware of T’s comparison and references to their leaner workforce and flatter reporting structure. What was shocking to hear from my source was that most of the industry regards T as the king of sheep mentality and that the other corporations feed them bad information on purpose to guide them down the wrong path all the time. While we all know that T is a follower because we all joke about it enough here, what we didn’t know was that our leaders are running out ahead in their direction based on lousy intel. Apparently this has been going on for a while!

One example is DTV. We may have been tricked into buying DTV because another company put out the rumor using backdoor channels and fake leaks that they were going to purchase DTV and blow AT&T out of the water. Next thing you know, somebody here thinks they are going to get the upper hand and swoop in and make the deal when the other company already knew it would be a disaster.

The real big one though is the misleading about layoffs and RTO. Some big corporate Telecom is publishing plans and planting falsehoods about more and more layoffs daring T to get into a layoff pi----g match with them. What does T do? T starts recklessly gutting their workforce because they think their competitor is on to something. But it’s all a plant to get T to do a face plant. RTO is the same. They are all laughing and can’t believe T took the bait and are forcing everyone back 5 days a week. They are reaping huge rewards by fleecing T of their best talent without the need for poaching. They are laughing at us BIG TIME and cannot believe it was all so easy.

This is one for the books boys. I knew we were followers but this is next level Dilbert.

Former employee here, I left almost a year ago and these conversations at a high level were 100% happening already, comparing AT&T to Verizon and stating the need to cut at least 10,000 employees.

“ Stop playing chess and checking. RTO and get working.”

Sounds like “pocket pool” is your game of choice.

What a cope. RTO is here to stay. Why? Because they'd rather have you leave on your own rather than pay you to leave.

Just ask Elon.

BTW, Verizon has more debt than AT&T.

T has a bigger ego that the truth won't be accepted and Stanky knows more about falling into traps than the traps themselves

@ab+1jpg3208b, great point. T has been lagging for quite some time. T has not hit the 1M per employee mark, but is trending upward. VZ is leading the pack after passing TMUS in 2013.

First and I call bs on this. AT&T is a true leader and creates the trends. They follow nobody. We act boldly and with conviction in everything we do and with every decision we make.

Thanks, now I have to clean coffee out of my keyboard. Good one, though. 9/10 if trolling. If serious you may need to be in some kind of group home.

You are seriously an id--t. We have more employees with less revenue. That is the whole point. If you don’t understand that, you are likely a low performer who ought to be let go.

“VZ produced $134.8B in revenue with around 100K avg employees in 2024 or $134M/emp. AT&T only produced $122.4B Revenue with around 145K avg employees or $.84M/emp. Expect the cuts to continue.”

That’s like comparing apples to crabapples. We have more employees because we insisted on doing less with more. More DEI employees, more offshore employees, college graduate employees, all of which do not and cannot pull their weight compared to us seasoned IT professionals. The most hilarious part is that they are cutting the wrong employees. As a result they will have the same number of employees after the layoffs but the output will be closer to 50% less than Verizon.

AT&Ts revenue per employee is still far behind Verizon so you can expect AT&T to continue to cut heads since Stankey does not know how to grow revenue.
VZ produced $134.8B in revenue with around 100K avg employees in 2024 or $134M/emp. AT&T only produced $122.4B Revenue with around 145K avg employees or $.84M/emp. Expect the cuts to continue.
VZ stock is paying a dividend of over 6% right now vs AT&T's cr-ppy 4% dividend. So, things are going to continue to get uglier before they get better.
Based on AT&T chasing VZ, Stank needs to get to around 95K employees.

I was going to say that Ratty and Stink were as S T U P I D as $hit, but then again their banks accounts are full of shareholder, employee and customer money and mine is empty.

No doubt they both had Toxic=T pay tens or hundreds of millions in consultant, advisor and investment bankers fees for the merger advise. But in the end, those people just are more yes men that repeated what Ratty and Stinky wanted to hear.

So yes, both Ratty and Stink are d-mb enough to be duped, but they are also d-mb enough just to make the most obvious mistakes in business history on their own.

Just false. I hope you are having fun with your silly stories. The executives here make all sorts of bad decisions on their own. Your fantasy is just that, something to make you feel better.
