Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Interns are so naive & cute

Walking around the place with so much positivity and high hopes. None of them have any clue that the rest of us are bitter, angry and mostly dead inside because this company su-ks.

Lies. If you’re one year removed from being an intern, you’re a good 5-7 years away from even knowing about TheLayoff.com.

Lol...I'm an ex CDW veteran who saw the mess last year with GTM and all the reinveting the wheel again BS from your current d-mb leadership.
Bet you kept quiet but I digress.
I didn't care for any intern or newbie that didn't acknowledge the dumpster fire that is CDW the last 3-4 years. You'll just keep chugging along trying to make it to retirement age.

I for one never drank the Kool-aid and never was beholden to anyone for my success. I'm financially free under 40...re-read that. As a lowly AM...I'm free of the BS.
You continue thinking the interns are a breadth of fresh air masking the negativity that you confuse as coworkers who actually cared strongly in a company that they helped grow from under $5 billion to over $20 billion. Interns and current leadership didn't do any of that...they are just riding the coattails.

With management weirdly picking tenured over 40 coworkers...you should hope you're not on any of the upcoming lists no matter how much you update SF or hit goal. Your book is better off split up among newbies to help bring costs down to boost stock price.

I'll end with this... I don't have hate for many people in the world...but most of my hate is for certain "people" (using that word lightly) still there causing the damage. Maybe the hate will end once they get my CDW shares back over $250.

Now get back to work and hit your GP goal for me. It's a work day and you're on here to see if a layoff is coming. I'm here for the enjoyment that I'm free of that mess and seeing if I should just dump my stock or keep it. Jury is outm

@ac - Oh, sweetie, you have a lot to learn about the corporate world and the world at large. Most of us "relics" beat the door down so your ignorant, naive little know it alls could come bursting in to tell us how you would do it differently.

Don't worry, your lessons are coming. We remember what it was like to be dewy eyed and oblivious to what the world is really like - and we quickly realized we were not any special than the tenured folks and that we should actively engage these "relics", as you call them, for historical, technical and professional knowledge.

I wish I knew who you were, hiding behind that anonymous post - that is your generations M.O. though. Sling mud while hiding in anonymity. You must feel so brave, saying what you said.

Us "relics" wouldn't hesitate to laugh and chortle, to your face, and tell you how simple minded and uneducated you actually are.

  • 30 years of professional experience here. I had to fight for workplace harassment and bullying protection rights that you enjoy. DO NOT discount us - we paved the way for your entitled butt to feel "safe at work." That is all.

I am a CDW veteran and I love the energy the CDW interns are bringing to the office. Sick and tired of all the negativity and complaining.

@ac Oh you naive little child, how sweet you are! I remember being young and naive just like you but decades later, I realize the “bitter worn out old relics” were right all along. And this is coming from someone who worked in companies so large that CDW is smaller than some of their individual departments.

One day you’ll grow up and realize what corporate America truly is. Until then, believe me, those of who are veterans are laughing at your naïveté and foolishness. Here’s a pro tip for you: if you want to succeed at CDW, be seen and kiss lots of the right a-s. Competence isn’t necessary.

Funny how interns or people with 1-2 years experience know everything.
I don't think we even require a 4 year degree anymore. Puts those interns on par with people that have no degrees and the reality is there's not much a degree will provide at CDW in a sales role that life experience can't
I guess what I take from these comments is don't give any advice to anyone new so they can figure out things for themselves.

Lol good luck being broke in Chicago.

Your customers aren't your age and don't think like you and with your comment, you probably think they are old relics too since they're older than you.
CDW didn't have interns before but they saw they could get people to work a summer for free in exchange for a possible entry level sales job. Acting like getting hired by CDW is some amazing feat currently as they'll hire anyone that'll be glaze the recruiter and hiring manager.
Most of the smart newbies quit before LOS 48 or pivot to a channel role because they learn from others that are more tenured. Watch your base dissappear and your accounts moved around because they aren't "your" customers but rather CDW's.

Sincerely an under 40 multimillionaire old relic EX coworker. Who needs a career 🤣

Also...as an early investor in AI...AI will replace you or the combo of AI and a overseas contractor since they have similar education if not more and will work for pennies on the dollar. It's already happening internally and they announced AI will save $200 million...once they start you think they'll stop...how cute.

I was an intern last year. Actually, we laugh at bitter worn out old relics like you and dream about how we will partner with AI and other new technologies we haven’t even thought about to build a career. You are just sad and bitter..
