Thread regarding IBM layoffs

AK didn't convince anyone, he's using old worn out Ginni excuses

This is right out of Ginni's tired playbook " One quarter does not define a company. Progress is never perfect or linear. But the future is ours to win"

the little indian AI HR rep mentioned that book he read once. everybody take a drink!

when the ceo takes $100m it’s because he’s so wise. when the stock craters it’s because “we” didn’t move fast enough. ever notice that?

Arvind is doing what needs to be done. Last weeks warning took courage and integrity. Get the bad news out of the way. That is what leadership is. He is ethical and has high standards like Mr Gerstner did

@a8 And Arvind is "only the stock price matters". He has burnt the company down to collect the insurance money. There are probably more abandoned IBM sites now than there are ones with employees.

No one is arguing that Ginni was not incompetent. But she was right that you need to spend money to make money - it must be invested. And products must be compelling if you want someone to buy them; they will not sell themselves.

Arvind thinks cost cutting is sustainable as opposed to being a short-term fix. He has already folded on AI; Quantum cannot carry the whole company unless you think 200 employees is the carrying capacity of the company. He has invested in nothing else. He is a parasite who steals and gives nothing in return but vapor and lies.

Ginni s u c k e d - but Arvind s u c k s like a blackhole that destroys everything around it.

I remember Ginni made the statement " Stock price doesn't matter" when she was trying to explain away another one of her failed quarters.

@a4 I know y'all hated Ginni but her support for Design launched my career into something worth fighting for. Those 7 years of my 30 years at IBM were very good.

But Arvind has been a disease since Day 1. He steals, he destroys. He does not build - except in India.
