Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

I've seen the strategy deck

The strategy is: survive the quarter. Repeat.

@ae I believe the announcement of the $7 billion US Government contract was an attempt to stop the stock slide but it did not work. Besides the debt, the troubled Paramount deal is backed with Oracle stock. Multiple lawsuits are pending in that deal. Oracle is being hit with power grid bonds in Wisconsin and natural gas pipeline project problems in New Mexico. No one wants a data center in their backyard. RAM and GPUs require premium prices.

Riding out a stock free fall is a sign of no control.

Oracle has few options, announcing a slowdown in expenditures for data centers and debt generation or announcing a massive restructuring from the top down.

Love this - I have zero stock - shorted it on my layoff. The RIF wasjust prior to my last vest after several years of dedication and commitment - it would have been a significant event for me and my family - didnt matter to Oracle. Was fortunate - took the risk, tea leaves were accurate, coved the gap.

Burn, Baby, Burn. Well deserved.
