OP, “70+ hired in India” from that GenAI town hall? Same old Wells Fargo song—cheap bodies over quality. I got axed from risk management and compliance a while back, stuck filling checkboxes in their .NET web app he-l (spreadsheets duct-taped online, fed by SSIS ETLs). Now they’re shipping those gigs to India while hyping AI. This post got it right: they’re paying for nothing and getting less. But let’s talk control management tools—did they ever use anything real, or is it all still a joke?
I’d love to grill my old team:
“Are you using anything legit like SAS Risk Management or MetricStream to actually run risk and compliance now, or are those India hires still just clicking boxes in the same janky .NET apps I left behind?”

“Town hall’s all about AI—beyond Copilot, ChatGPT, and DeepSeek for code hacks, are they plugging any AI platforms like IBM Watson or Pega into control management to spot financial crimes or operational risks, or is it just India emailing AI spitballs?”

“We had ServiceNow for tech tickets—did they stretch it to governance or escalation for control, or is it still IT’s toy while India fumbles the real work?”

“They nixed big tools like Finastra in my day—too pricey. Any shift to test smaller AI-driven pieces for control, or still too cheap to care?”

“That ‘cloud certified’ push 3-4 years ago—did any control apps hit Azure with AI tools like Watson, or are they still migrating .NET junk with no plan?”

“Those SSIS data feeds with no APIs—did SAS or Temenos ever show up to automate risk flows, or are India’s ‘10 years of GenAI’ resumes just patching defects?”

“That unread policy tome—any platform like MetricStream digitizing compliance, or are they manually sc--wing it up offshore now?”

“No SOA, no UI standards—any sign of Temenos or Fiserv Precision standardizing control across units, or just more unit-by-unit chaos?”

“AI for proactive risk ID—Watson or Google Cloud doing anything real, or is it all buzz while India’s ‘experts’ fake it?”

“McKinsey says you need a full AI stack for control domains—any roadmap past this India-and-Copilot mess, or is ‘cloud migration’ still the dream?”

I bet the answers are “nope” across the board. My gig was soul-crushing—checkboxes in a system with no architecture, no platforms, no rewiring (McKinsey’s big fail). Now India’s got it, and per @ef

Wells Fargo India division is the only team involved with building artificial intelligence for the bank they're using copilot, chatGPT, and deepseek to generate code and email it to themselves to get it done quicker.

This is public knowledge everyone's aware of it my manager who's american-based even says that we should be following their lead to make our jobs easier because it's a risk avoidance action.

My India coworkers suggest AI for everything but can’t build it for cr-p. You think AI can do it?! Go for it. I’ll just sit here waiting for the defects. To he-l in a hand basket we go…

Sometimes pretty much the only things that are correct on Indian contractor resumes is the name, address, and phone number. But I've had plenty of Americans lie as well.

You’ve reviewed Indian resumes I see.

I looked at one that claimed to use a malware analysis tool in the past year at Citi that has not been on the market since 2007. And magically this Indian had only been in IT for 3 years. But in that three years he had worked in nearly every area of information security.

Where else could the hire “qualified” applicants. Only Indians have resumes that show 10 years of GenAI experience.
