At least 27 Michigan school districts risk losing up to $42 million in federal pandemic aid following a decision by Linda McMahon, the recently appointed U.S. Education Secretary, to rescind an extended spending deadline.
In a letter sent Friday to state education leaders, McMahon stated that extending deadlines for COVID-related grants years after the pandemic has ended does not align with current department priorities or responsible use of taxpayer funds.

Let’s fund a study with dubious data to trick other officials without incentive to look into justification and further request 20B for Michigan school renovations.
