Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Clear your mind...

Give yourself a moment and find your way to www.indeed.com. Have your resume prepared, reference letters (3), and a cover letter ready to go.

The more prepared you are, the less stressed you will be.

The door opens for a reason. I can assure you, the grass is greener on the other side. We must go in with a solution-based mindset. Please know that you are strong, this is not the worst situation you have been going through.

I was once employed by Allstate. I was wrongfully terminated for looking out for myself. I was surrounded by drama, d–g addicts, nepotism, and favoritism. My mental health was declining on a daily. I was underpaid and overworked. – So are you. I know management is looking on this forum and I am not afraid to say my work environment was corrupt and I was treated like dirt. Knowing how employees are treated, I would never promote Allstate and I will certainly never be a customer.

Since leaving, I make double the money, can afford my doctors bills, and have a better mindset on life.

There is minimal positivity with this company. Have faith. Struggle creates character and character creates hope. You will be okay!

OP is a f—ing simpleton. In the middle of a pandemic with the second recession in 20 years looming, this type of b—s— rhetoric is of no use. Of course people are being prepared just in case they get the bad news but it doesn’t mean they will get something else. Well done you. You got another job. You came on here to make yourself feel better and to get a few slaps on the back for getting another mediocre position. id–t.

A suggestion to anyone that may find themselves on the job market. I thought I had a decent resume but I did not. Most resumes are read buy computers which pick out key words. It may pay to have a company review your resume and put it in format that gets the most attention when mass reviewed. There are many that offer this service. It was money well spent for me.

OP is giving sound positive advice on a very very ugly situation. The situations - Allstaters are being laid off; the economy is not booming; we are in the midst of a pandemic; the job market is scarce. However, you do not have to just wait eagerly for your number to be called and get “kicked out the door by Tommy”. You do not have to receive sound advice as a “fluffy story”. To get back to reality is, BE PREPARED! Instead of just waiting to be kicked out the door, which is indeed a reality as well, you can wait to be kicked out the door WITH A PLAN!! You and your families depend on you having a plan for life after Allstate.

If you do not get kicked out the door this round of layoffs, still keep your plan, your resume, 3 reference letters, and a cover letter, fresh. And save www.indeed.com in your ‘favorites’.

OP, thank you for insight on a “solution-based mindset”. Good luck to all.

I already got hired by a competitor who pays better! The even match 6% on reticent and offer profit sharing.
Glen and Tom believe in outsourcing and firing, not sharing profit!! 🤣

And then we woke up in the middle of a pandemic eagerly waiting for our number to be called so we could be kicked out the door .by Tommy .

Yes because the economy is booming now. There is a red carpet of available jobs during a pandemic. Get back to reality versus a fluff story.
