Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

New Business Insider article

From Dominick Reuter, who has been covering this.

Starts out: "The first wave of AT&T's five-day return-to-office mandate started on Monday. Conversations with half a dozen AT&T workers across the country this week indicate it hasn't been off to a smooth start."

Somebody let BI know about the 10k pay cut for Mid-Market sales too!!! That on top of RTO and no gas allowance is inhumane!

If you have a memo on it, send it yourself. He puts his email on the article so it's not hard from your personal email. It's better if what you send has the letterhead markings on it than some hearsay from someone else.

“Call the fire marshal & explain folks are being coerced to park “wherever. And then watch all your coworkers ticketed and cars get towed away.”

LOL!

@an+1jh3bsymm… the only thing that is being stirred up is your dignity into the gallons of Kool-Aid that you obviously consume.

I’m glad there is some media attention here. AT&T needs to be exposed for the ruthless he-l hole it is.

John is going to give himself a raise with your 10k for his performance. Devaluing the company by over 50% in blind of an eye.

“this sh-t would get more traction if any one of the "dozens of employees" who are talking to BI would send pictures that BI publishes.”
The claims being made aren’t real issues. This is why no photos haven been sent.

"not super easy in an existing building"

1025 Lenox was initially designed with four elevators. When being built there was a decision not to build. It is obvious in the elevator lobbies on each floor that an elevator is missing. I am not sure if there is an elevator shaft behind the wall, but I am guessing there is if the quote from the story is accurate about installing another elevator. It would be nice to know the sources source on that. It would definitely alleviate crowds in the elevator lobby right now.

Alpharetta is only two stories so the demand for the elevators are lower.

"One of the Atlanta employees told BI that an additional elevator was planned to be installed at the location."

Um, not super easy in an existing building. "Easiest" way is to add to an end of a building to ensure all supports, etc. are there, but I'm not familiar enough with Alpharetta or Lenox to know if that's possible. Best bet is to dress up any freight elevators to allow them to be used as passenger elevators during the day. Might also help out those peeps who put on a few lbs during WFH. ;)

The company thought they are so smart to save money with this inhumane tactic!

Guess it’s backfiring :)

Nearly all of the dozen workers BI has spoken to in recent weeks have said they feel that the new rules may be an attempt to reduce its US workforce.

So good

Love this:

This is not about collaboration," one of the Atlanta workers said. "If they can cut costs and have people leave because they're uncomfortable, that's the sweet spot."

John just created an entire workforce dedicated to seeing him fail.

Great culture John.

Enjoy what you created because by the looks of it, the stock will suffer from this negative press and you will have to answer some very difficult questions.
