Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Center of Excellence

I looked at How and Where we work policy and in it, Austin is still marked as Center of Excellence but no mention of Chicago. (Though it was business as usual at some point). I understand Market folks can still work in Chicago and other offices but what’s up with the rest of the folks? I believe all FOWs have moved or resigned. Thoughts?

to another location just because it is where your manager is

CSO has to hire in Charlotte even if the manager isn't there. That's why all these collaboration together claims are full of it.

Those of us not in a so called ‘hub location’ need to be applying for jobs every day. Update that resume and linked in ASAP.

On one hand you need to abide by the "HUB locations", but there's also a little thing called FTW (Follow The Work) which makes you move from a perfectly good HUB location that you were hired in, to another location just because it is where your manager is (ie Atlanta or Dallas). My team had to move to Atlanta from Washington - Bothell, New Jersey - Middletown, and Arizona - Mesa. I don't understand why we had to move from perfectly good HUBs when everything was working!

@ar I can confirm this, just got a call last week from my AVP where we went from we’ll see how everything goes earlier this year through the end of the year to full on panic about relocating to a hub location. Unfortunately for me, I am not near one and unable to relocate. I will be receiving a management package a.k.a. six months severance when my number comes up.
