Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Underpaid, unappreciated, unrecognized, now unnecessary

For a while since I started here, I single handedly carried a team of bunch of wannabe pretenders who would never turn on their cams, never be in the office, never contribute more than bare minimum.

I was put into another team to clean up the mess in that squad while still doing double duty helping both teams.

Throughout this time, there was no recognition, no appreciation of efforts, not to mention underpaid (though that's the reality for majority of people in this company).

And this morning, I was told my position has been relocated to Westlake from Smithfield.

I am given until end of August to find something.
Though, no relocation provided means they have deemed I was unnecessary.

Totally lost on me what could have I done more???
I was in wealth technology under Chris Melia 's organization

@ec, in case nobody told you in real life, you're a je-k.

@ec
Perhaps OP meant they felt they're the ones who's doing all the heavy lifting while other teammates do bare minimum because they're "teacher's pets" and hence can get away with slacking their way.

There's one too many instances like that which I have seen personally.

You single handedly carried a team of bunch of wannabe pretenders?

So, in other words you pretended for a group that couldn't achieve their own pretending?
Well done.

Been there, done that.
If you aren’t already burned out, you will be soon.
One used to be able to climb the corp ladder by being a hard worker producing quality work. Now it just gets you more work with little to no reward.
Slowly scale back, don’t speak up in mtgs and delegate (if possible) mundane/simple tasks to others.
Hope this helps.

@as
Do you think associates have a control on when they are being told of their jobs moved out?????

At best, the associates can only be prepared to have this told to them.

Plus i know of many people who were completely shocked to hear of their location being moved to another states out of the blue.
They were all in the office during connect weeks and more REGULARLY unlike some of the entitled ones

Maybe you should shut your d-mb mouth about being on video. God you sound insufferable.

Either get your sweet a-s to hot, sweltering Texas with no sidewalks and long horns on campus or ship out, partna.

@OP "And this morning, I was told my position has been relocated to Westlake from Smithfield."

Why did you just now find out? other people were told of this weeks ago

@ah What do you mean by "Reach out to FTS."? Is that the contracting company? How do we get connected with them?

@OP from WI BU- a bunch of our roles got moved from NC to SMT. Not able to fill them as not many people want to live in Rhode Island. Reach out to FTS. Sorry this is happening to you. It's a complete mess 😣

As some of the other comments on similar posts mentioned

"The leaders, colocation pushers, Ames, CIOs should all BURN IN HE-L"

Sorry this happened to you.

It seems more and more teams are pushing towards colocation, which is mo--nic.

If you were in Smithfield, I assume you'd already be visiting office during connect weeks.

If you did, then it's pathetic of management to simply play musical chairs with associates positions like that.
