Growing revenues

Sometimes I wonder if the leadership's forgotten what that means…..

You get it! Most intelligent thing I have seen on this board in a very long time. 10 years ago, we’d sell a $1,500 AVPN circuit, a $500 PRI, and a $1000 internet circuit at one location. That’s $3000 before you even throw in POTS lines. Today, with SDWAN, you’re lucky if you sell a $90 broadband circuit and an $20 wireless backup. All my customers want is “cheap bandwidth”. The ARPU has tanked. Do yourself a favor, and find jobs where the term aaS is prevalent. The future is in licenses for hosted services.

It seems they’ve been halting the fiber rollout.

That nonsense about growing revenues is what got us in this pickle to start with. Remember Randall did not want to be in boring business of building pipes for homes and businesses. He was all about growing business with new ventures in content and advertising. When you have too good a thing, and you forget who you are. Our job, our number 1 job, is network. Everything else is secondary. Boring, slow, sure. But no one else does it better. We are number 1 fiber company and not even close. But we don't want to brag. Instead of buying other fiber companies when wireless purchases were stopped, we go buy freaking satellite company and then even worse Hollywood. It is what it is, people like the writer of this article are reason Randall did what he did.

We should bring back the phone booths. Rake in the coins for those calls. Grow that revenue.

“We have no new technology available to provide new business growth”.

Wait a min now… 3-4 years back we were promised Sales Force was the new tech to solve all issues and grow the business!

We have no new technology available to provide new business growth. This compnay lives on existing services that are being marginalized by every other competitor. Mobility and fiber pricing are under huge pressure. When you don’t evolve, the default reaction is to raise prices….that won’t work here. We are hugging sand ……
