Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Apple ditched intel and it paid off

Intel lost Apple as it’s customer as of last year . It’s paying off . Intel”s decision to layoff key folks back in 2016 is the main cause for all this pain

@2mlv+1exsWti1 M1, M1 Pro, and M1 ProMax pretty much confirm that Intel is finished. The Ryzen also shows in the x86 garden they aren’t special.

Now Qualcomm, Nvidia, Ampere and even Amazon, Google and Microsoft will be designing their Mx chips at TSMC and Samsung giving Pat and Intel one big Can of Whoop A$$

Honestly the M1 chips are a very big deal, and to release what they did Gen 1 is earth shattering. People can have strong opinions all they want, but if you haven't experienced those chips you don't know what you don't know.

Going around the globe building fabs where ever one can get billions of taxpayer that make no business sense all in the name of producing inferior and high cost chips in the name of security.

What happened to making great products using great technology that delight customers.

What a boot licking leader and strategy has Pat fallen to, who is proud to work there?

@avg

Completely agreed!

Pat's comment about Apple being a "lifestyle company" is a self-own, and just d-mb. If he wanted to get Apple back as a customer then why insult them? In sports, it's giving your opponent "bulletin board material." It's a self-own because this "lifestyle" company has been and will continue to kick Intel's bu-t, in actual chip design tech, in market cap, in revenue and profit, in worldwide impact, etc., basically in every single metric Apple is a better company than Intel. Yeah, the former 500 pound gorilla is getting its a** kicked by a "lifestyle" company. eye-roll

I did the same! Been using Intel CPUs for years but my latest upgrade (late 2020) I went with a Ryzen 7 5800X. Better than anything Intel had to offer at the time. Even now with ADL available I think I would’ve still chose the Ryzen 7. I’m sure Intel won’t feel the loss of 1 cpu sale 🤣

What do you know, ditching the biggest losers in the industry has a big upside.

3 trillion dollar lifestyle company is 25% of TSMC's revenues.
Apple is one of the primary reasons Intel is behind.

AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Mediatek will 'draft' on Apple's process node investments and provide lots of pain for Intel thanks to TSMC's process leadership.

If you haven't tried it...go out and test an M1 MacBook.
It's light years ahead of any Intel laptop.
Quiet, fast and a battery that just won't quit.
70% percent growth in Macs is just the beginning.

Pat will again throw shade at 🍎 and refer as a "Lifestyle company"🤔
Poor judgment = Poor leadership.
