Medical Exemption= Poor Mid year review?

I have never gotten a negative review in my career. While there have been bumps here and there, everything seemed lined up for at least a “Meets Expectations” midyear. I ended up getting tracking below expectations with very vague reasons as to why that might be. I am medically exempt from going in office, and have heard negative ratings may be trying to be put in place for those of us who aren’t coming back in office due to exemption. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, any recs on handling?

If I were you and these facts are accurate, I would file a legal case against them.

Gee whizzies a whole.. i’ll remember that next time - such as this weekend- when india calls about support failures or my boss calls outside of office time. You know what? I’ll tell them we all need to come in the office. Meanwhile my question to you is, are you ‘summer’s eve’ or massengill? Dolt

Lets take the converse of your jackarse statement. During COVID if the jobs were alll done remotely why do we need to come to the office? Sounds like excuse to be slimy by management.
You daipet wearing idjit.

Why would someone be exempt from going to an office? Do you never leave the house? I just don’t get why ever since covid ppl all of a sudden can’t work in offices anymore. Seems like an excuse for laziness.

I heard conversations by executive members when they thought nobody was listening early in the morning in the open floor spaces that appeared to me to be targeting people on maternity leave- this executive thought it was ridiculous that the Mom was requesting some additional unpaid time off before coming back. The conversation was just so callous it was sickening and I lost all respect for this executive

Also know of somebody who seem to be targeted immediately after notifying management that they would be taking leave in the near future

I was laid off after having a similar exemption for a year or so. Ended up being a blessing in disguise, as I was able to collect unemployment on top of sub pay for those 3 months and I landed a job almost exactly at that 3 month mark, so I essentially got a raise and paid vacation.

BNY 100% targeted me for the exemption, as they have and will others. There’s little use in trying to fight it, as those cases are almost impossible to win unless you have explicit evidence.

Have seen it firsthand. Lady with fibromyalgia was let go. Oh, she was doing the job and more. But she was home and needed time for therapy which she made up and more. She had a bad manager a level above her and she was given phony performance ratings. She was let go with SUB at that time. This place wants only the rule - be in the office. It wants no exceptions. You are finished here. Dont try to protest it or do their improvment plan. Let your lawyer know what’s happening. This place is diabolical and has an excuse for everything. You are going to be gone because you are an exception and different. They view that as a problem but will never admit it. Sorry.
